Top of the list is MAFIA POWER, who won a C&D handicap last month before going close at Lingfield on his stable debut last Saturday. He’s only 1lb higher on this return to Tapeta and looks a strong contender with cheekpieces added. Kentucky Kingdom was successful at this track when last seen in February and could be the main danger if he can pick up where he left off. Others who could be in the mix are Meadram and Midgetonamission.
This is much weaker than the races that The Thin Blue Line (second choice) has been contesting and he should give a good account despite the widest stall. Alcazan, Ahlawi, Inevitable Outcome and Bare Necessity all have something to recommend them but it might be worth taking a chance on OOH IS IT. He has dropped to a very tempting mark, has landed the inside stall and is almost certainly in better form than his last two runs would suggest.
Handicap debutante Shining Al Danah holds obvious claims, being an unexposed filly from the Gosden yard. However, her latest piece of form isn’t particularly convincing and a solid alternative is CHERISH, who is better than ever and is well suited by this course. Belle Fourche (second choice) beat the selection in mid-October and has to be feared.
