ITV Racing Friday gets under way here with a novice hurdle over an extended 2m 4f. You can make claims for many at shorter odds here but I’ll have a few quid each-way on EVERYONESGAME for Charlie Longsdon and Paul O’Brien who is in need of a winner. My selection didn’t appear to run his race last time when behind Egbert, but he’s huge odds now and had previously shown ability and that he stays.

13:55 Newbury – BEAUPORT
Now a Grade 2 novice chase over 2m 4f. BEAUPORT stays very strongly and might just be too tough for Stage Star. The Nigel Twiston-Davies runner, ridden by the excellent Tom Bellamy, returned with a fine success at Carlisle and was a good fourth up at Aintree in a 3m handicap hurdle.
14:30 Newbury – CARIBEAN BOY
A handicap chase over 2m 4f. Hard to know what CARIBEAN BOY is capable of but this is his trip and the ground is fine for Nicky Henderson and Daryl Jacob. He showed he can still win at Kempton last term and looked good at Newbury back in 2020.

15:05 Newbury – CHAMP
A Grade 2 hurdle over 3m. The ground will surely be too quick for Paisley Park so it’s easy to side with CHAMP for Nicky Henderson and Jonjo O’Neill Jr. My hope has plenty of fine form at Newbury and returned last season with a success in the Long Walk at Ascot. He might just be best fresh as he gets on in age.

15:40 Newbury – ASK A HONEY BEE
Finally a handicap hurdle over 3m. ASK A HONEY BEE ran in the Scottish National last season but ran well over hurdles on his first run this season. Off the same mark here of 125 he will keep on going when the going gets tough for Liam Harrison who takes off a valuable 3lb and Fergal O’Brien.
