We’ve rolled over our maximum £/€100k jackpot for this week’s racing action – and you could be in with a chance to win it (did we mention it’s completely free to play!)
With racing action from York and Newmarket, we’ve drafted in racing royaltyRuby Walsh, top tipster Rory Delargy and FTHM host Patrick Kennelly to share their top picks on the 5 selected races below.
I’m going to go with PROTAGONIST. Tried to lead them on the far side in the Cambridgeshire and was up there all the way. Obviously the near side of the track was the favourite side. Back up to ten furlongs suits him. I’m going with Protagonist.
I like CHALDEAN for Frankie Dettori and Andrew Balding. He’s done nothing wrong on his four starts and there might be a bit of rain, which will really suit him. He’s won his last three and he can make it four.
I don’t think the draw is going to be that significant unless there is a track bias because of rain. I think there’s going to be an even split on the track. I’m going to go with LUCKY MAN, who I thought was unlucky at Ayr. He was on the far side in the Ayr Gold Cup, thought it was a solid run. He was second to Gale Force One here in July, and he was second to Harry Three in June. He likes York, I think he just needs to break evenly with them. I’m with Lucky Man.

Gibraltar has hit a rich vain of form, winning his last last two at Leopardstown and Tramore. Baby Zeus is into the unknown, I’m not certain he’ll get the trip, I’m not certain about his stamina. I think SCARAMANGA could be the best of Willie Mullen’s in this. He hasn’t run since Royal Ascot in June, where he was disappointing behind Coltrane. He did win off a mark of eighty six at Newbury in 2021. He’s going well, I think he will get the trip.
ATACAMA DESERT won over course and distance last time out for Kevin Frost and he can do the same here. He looks to be nicely improving.
