13:42 – Tuddenham Green

Those with hurdling experience don’t set a daunting standard so it’s worth siding with TUDDENHAM GREEN on his first start over jumps. Tuddenham Green finished placed on both outings in Flat handicaps this term and he looked unlucky not to finish closer at Sandown last time when he was caught in a pocked as the race was developing. There’s loads of stamina in Tuddenham Green’s pedigree – he is by Nathaniel and out of a two-mile winner on the Flat – and he is an interesting recruit to hurdling for Alan King whose juveniles are always entitled to plenty of respect.

14:17 – Tea Clipper

TEA CLIPPER has won on his reappearance at this course for the past two seasons and looks nicely treated on his return here. Tea Clipper failed to win again after winning a two-and-a-half mile listed novice on his chasing debut at this meeting last year, but he produced a creditable effort when fourth in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and is able to run off a 3 lb lower mark here. He clearly goes well fresh and can enhance his good record after a break.

14:52 – McFabulous

MCFABULOUS was a smart hurdler and should prove too good for these rivals on his chasing debut. McFabulous was a bit disappointing in the Cleeve and then in the Aintree Hurdle after he had shaped with promise when runner-up on his return in the Relkeel, but he ran up to his best when landing the Grade 2 Select Hurdle at Sandown when last seen in April. He is rising nine and going chasing later than ideal but he has the physique to take well to this discipline.

15:27 – Paint The Dream

PAINT THE DREAM took this prize in impressive style last year and can defy a 10 lb higher mark this time around. Paint The Dream disappointed on a few occasions after running out an authoritative winner on his return at Chepstow, but he bounced back in the Greatwood Gold Cup at Newbury, registering another wide-margin success. He ran respectably when fourth in the Grade 1 Melling Chase on his final outing of the campaign and this looks like a much more suitable opportunity.

16:02 – Didtheyleaveuoutto

DIDTHEYLEAVEUOUTTO had to settle for second in this last season but he can go one better this time around. He has been ticking along nicely on the Flat during the summer and should be spot on for this assignment off a mark only 2 lb higher than he ran off in this last year. It’s worth noting he was runner-up off a 3 lb higher mark than this at Newbury last November, so he’s clearly well handicapped.

16:37 – Saint Segal

SAINT SEGAL shaped much better than the result would suggest when down the field in the Boodles at the Cheltenham Festival and he can show he’s a well-handicapped horse here. Saint Segal paid the price for pulling too hard at Cheltenham, fading in the closing stages, but there was a lot to like about how he got involved coming down the hill, not looking at all out of place in such a competitive event. He won two of his three outings prior to Cheltenham, and was runner-up in the Grade 1 Finale Juvenile Hurdle on the other occasion, so he has made a highly encouraging start to his career.

17:12 – Pentire Head

Paul Nicholls has a good record in this bumper and he relies on Pentire Head who makes appeal on paper. PENTIRE HEAD, a €145,000 purchase as a three-year-old, is a brother to the Grade 2-winning hurdler Mount Mews, while his dam is a sister to high-class chaser Burton Port.
