13:40 – On Of Our Own
This is not a strong novice and One Of Our Own should be able to put her experience to good use and get off the mark. She has finished placed on her last three outings and put up just about her best effort yet when runner-up over this course and distance a few weeks ago, making the running until being headed inside the final 100 yards. That is arguably the pick of the form on offer and the uncomplicated One Of Our Own should launch a bold bid.

14:15 – Cotai Pearl
Cotai Pearl failed to build on a promising debut effort at Musselburgh when finishing down the field at Thirsk, but she got back on track at Beverley last month, finding only a subsequent winner too strong. Cotai Pearl kept on in the style of a filly who will be better off over six furlongs, so this step up in trip and extra emphasis on stamina can help bring about some improvement on her handicap debut.
14:50 – Royal Prospect
Royal Prospect in in excellent order at present and has been successful on two of his last three outings, both over this course and distance. Royal Prospect took advantage of a reduced mark when scoring here on the first day in August, and after failing to make an impact at Ripon he bounced back at this venue last week, staying on well to get the verdict by a head. Royal Prospect won only narrowly, but the runner-up, who has won subsequently, pulled five lengths clear of the third, so a 4lb penalty should not be enough to prevent Royal Prospect from enhancing his fine course record.
15:25 – Bashful
Bashful shaped with promise when runner-up at Hamilton on his first start for this yard in June, but a tendency to start slowly has prevented him from building on it. However, there’s little doubt he is potentially well handicapped if putting it all together and the application of cheekpieces for the first time might help sharpen him up. This represents another drop in grade for Bashful and he looks worth chancing.
15:55 – Kimifive
Kimifive hasn’t been with Ian Williams for long and he got off the mark at Epsom last week on just his third start for the yard. Kimifive had been on a long losing run of more than three years prior to that ready success, but he had dropped a long way in the weights as a consequence so still looks well treated under a 4lb penalty now that he’s up and running for this excellent yard.

16:30 – Vega Sicilia
Vega Sicilia was too green to do himself justice on his debut for Andrew Balding at Windsor in June, but he caught the eye when third at Kempton a few weeks ago on his first start for the Charltons. Vega Sicilia still showed signs of greenness at Kempton but he made good headway in the straight, leaving the impression that he will carry on improving as he gains experience. He looks the one to beat on the back of that promising display.
17:00 – Infiniti
Infiniti may be a nine-year-old but she has proved better than ever of late and has won four of her five outings on the Flat this summer. Infiniti was especially impressive on her latest outing at Ripon last week, when she quickly settled matters after hitting the front two furlongs out, and a 4 lb penalty should not be enough to stop her from following up if in the same sort of form. Aiden Brookes has been aboard for all four victories and is back in the saddle again.
