Several of these middle-distance prospects will be winning races in due course but the candidate with the best credentials today is BAND OF STEEL and he’s taken to go one better than at Chelmsford. Significant improvement could be forthcoming from Edge Of Darkness who was very green at Ripon. He could be the main danger, with Going To The Moon and High Honour also plausible contenders.
15:05 Beautiful Aisling
Only six runners but four of them were successful last time out. Despite top weight, BEAUTIFUL AISLING gets the verdict after doing well to get up close home over 5f at Beverley last time. She may be chased home by The Big Board while Corinthian Kid, another going the right way, also commands plenty of respect in a race in which none can be ruled out.

15:40 Aggagio (NAP)
Successful in two of the last three runnings of this event, Themaxwecan has to be respected once more, but AGGAGIO (nap) is quickly developing into a Goodwood specialist too and he can continue his progress by gaining a third victory of the campaign. Master Milliner may not yet be fully exposed while Whitehaven will be interesting if more rain arrives.
16:10 Munch
A case can be made for quite a few in a competitive conditions event. The unknown quantity is Sirona who made quite an impression on her debut just nine days ago, and if building on that she could take some stopping. Candle Of Hope (second choice) and Ipanema Princess have a lot more experience and look solid candidates but a chance is taken with MUNCH, who has made big strides with each run and may take another leap forward.
16:45 Seeola
An open race despite the small field, and a good case can be made for each of the runners with experience. Marginal preference is for the well-bred filly SEEOLA, whose latest effort came over C&D and who should improve further. Eljenob is narrow second choice ahead of Later Darling. Kempton scorer Maghlaak isn’t completely certain to relish the new trip, judged on breeding, but looks a major contender provided he stays. The two newcomers need a check in the betting.
17:20 The Lamplighter
Neither C&D winner Lovely Breeze nor Cashew enjoyed much luck at Windsor last time so could fare better here, the latter especially interesting should the rain arrive. However, the vote goes to THE LAMPLIGHTER, who has three C&D successes under his belt and ran another fine race when just beaten in the Stewards’ Sprint here last time. The unexposed Time Step is another to consider on handicap debut.
