Horse Racing Tips: 15/8 NAP tops today’s Goodwood best bets

13:15 – Ndaawi

There are some interesting newcomers on show, notably It’s All About You, Sea Eagle and Tenerife Sunshine, and the betting may prove revealing. NDAAWI shaped with considerable promise on his Newmarket debut though and he should have more to offer. He sets a useful standard for his rivals to aim at.

13:50 – Indian Creak

Atalanta’s Boy bids for a hat-trick in this race and he is on the same mark as for his win 12 months ago. He can fluff the start though and comes with risks attached on his first run for a new stable. Dusky Lord is not out of it, while Many A Star (second choice) is enjoying a good season and still figures on a fair mark. INDIAN CREAK’s recent form-figures are uninspiring but he has had excuses and he might prove the answer.

14:25 – Just A Tad

 This is a tricky group to weigh up with any confidence, with no shortage of blemishes on their records, but the two most convincing cases seem to be presented by JUST A TAD and Borntobealeader who have shown a measure of stamina and have the best chances judged on British form. The selection underperformed on her latest start, with her trainer explaining that she had boiled over beforehand. Bazalgette is third on the list.

15:00 – Falling Shadow

A warmly contested race is in prospect despite the small field. FALLING SHADOW is getting his act together and his form in an honourable defeat last time narrowly earns him the vote ahead of Paradias, who performed so well at Glorious Goodwood last month, and then Savvy Victory who lost out only on the post at Doncaster. Having missed the last three months, it’s not too late for Al Mubhir to start fulfilling the promise of his 2yo win.

15:35 – Happy Power (nap)

Double Or Bubble looks risky on ground softer than good, whereas HAPPY POWER (nap) has everything in his favour. Andrew Balding’s 6yo may struggle with his consistency elsewhere but he’s never run a bad race here in six visits and a repeat of his latest effort in a strong Lennox should get the job done. Double Or Bubble could be the danger in spite of conditions, with Ever Given next best.

16:10 – Suzy’s Shoes

A win for any of these would come as no surprise. The nod goes to SUZY’S SHOES, who had reportedly strengthened up considerably prior to shedding her maiden status at Newbury and this scopey filly might be the best handicapped of the three. Peripatetic probably bumped into a Pattern performer at Salisbury and she edges second preference over Speak.

16:45 – Luna Magic

Plenty have chances but LUNA MAGIC and Brodie Hampson are a formidable partnership in races of this nature and they won this last year off a 6lb lower mark after winning the same Salisbury race a week before. Voltaic is second choice in the hope that a good gallop develops and he settles better, while another on the shortlist is Silastar.
