Strangerontheshore is respected despite a career-high mark and both Outsmart (second choice) and Head Chef have live claims, as do one or two others. However, MR STRUTTER arrives here in decent nick and he’s handicapped to win more races.
14:40 – Golden Keeper
Captain Kane’s stellar season hit a new high with his Yarmouth success last week and he should go well again under a penalty but GOLDEN KEEPER may have a bit more potential. He showed some improvement to score over C&D on his handicap debut and a 3lb higher mark looks manageable. Bottom-weight Cappoquin is third on the list

A well-contested nursery may go to TATTERSTALL who is bred to be quick and whose C&D second here in July reads well. Recent winners Beautiful Aisling and Not For Profit are unlikely to be far away.
15:45 – Sugar Baby (nap)
A slow start would hold dangers from stall 2 but SUGAR BABY (nap) has plenty in his favour and can complete the hat-trick. If a visor perks him up, Imperial Khan could pose the main threat, while The Grey Lass is solid and should be thereabouts and Muatadel makes some each-way appeal.
16:25 – Hot Scoop
Foreseeable Future is on a roll and needs serious consideration but the vote goes to another last-time-out winner HOT SCOOP whose 5lb rise still leaves him well treated judged on his best form. Zoom Star is relatively unexposed and should be monitored in the market after a break.

This could be fought out by a pair of runners who shaped well on the AW first time out. Dowally went down narrowly at Kempton and should build on that but slight preference is for SERIOUS LOOK who made much of the running at Newcastle and looks well up to winning a race of this nature. Bush Rose and Dowally’s stablemate Sirona look the pick of the newcomers on paper.
17:30 – WhatWouldYouKnow
Few of these are regular winners these days and a chance is taken with WHATWOULDYOUKNOW despite an unpromising set of form-figures. Nigel Tinkler’s 7yo has plummeted in the weights this year, had an excuse last time and is a C&D winner. Dr Rio deserves some reward for his consistency and may pose the main threat, with Your Love Is King, Bit Of A Quirke and handicap debutante Broctune Azure also considered.
