BARNEY’S BAY is on a fair mark considering how consistent he is and it’s no surprise that they take an extra 3lb off his back to ease his burden.

It’s no surprise to see BRIGHT DIAMOND pitched in at Group 3 level on only her second start – she was nothing short of explosive on her debut winning by nine lengths at headquarters. Fairy Cross and Candle of Hope will be towards the top of the market, however the selection could do no more than beat what was in front of her and she’s entitled TO the step up in grade.

14:05 Beverley – Wait to Excel
This has been WAIT TO EXCEL‘s debut season at three years old and the team have been rewarded for their patience with two pretty impressive displays, the last twice. He’s a big shell of an individual who can only improve as the season progresses. He has strengthened into that massive frame and he is very much on the upgrade.
14:25 Goodwood – Sir Dancealot (each-way)
A one-time very decent performer – especially at this venue – SIR DANCEALOT – needed his return from a mammoth layoff and ran an absolute cracker at Pontefract. However he dipped below that form in a red-hot contest here last time. The drop back into handicap company will be in his favour and from a wide position, he will be dropped in and played very late.
14:40 Beverley – Existent
This track should be absolutely perfect for the late flying tactics of EXISTENT. He has a perfect inside stall position in box two and he can stalk his way into contention from the back of the pack. He’s bang there on official ratings and should get a strong pace to run at with King of Stars in the lineup. He’s been knocking on the door since dropping down to 5 furlongs.

A disappointing race for the prizemoney on offer. That’s quite disappointing and we’ve ended up with a long odds on favourite in HOO YA MAL.
15:15 Newmarket – Manaccan
Looked a really progressive sprinter when winning easily at the Shergar Cup meeting at Ascot. MANACCAN has been given three weeks before stepping up in grade to Listed company by his excellent underrated handler, John Ryan. He’s one of three youngsters lining up against the older sprinters, but has plenty to recommend him going forward, with a whole chunk of untapped potential to come.
15:35 Goodwood – Jadoomi
We haven’t seen JADOOMI much recently, but his ability to handle a slight ease in the ground could play into his favour. Off the back of a win over slightly further in France last time, and with the red-hot favourite Mutasaabeq a suspect stayer over this distance, surely William Buick will make this a stern test of stamina?
