14:15 – Retirement Beckons
The in-form RETIREMENT BECKONS is taken to reverse recent Ayr placings with Mintnthat in a race that makes little appeal for betting purposes.

14:45 – Tribal Hunter
Thankuappreciate didn’t look entirely focused on the job in hand when second at Ayr and preference is for TRIBAL HUNTER, whose Newcastle conqueror not only had the benefit of a run but it was also a good one.
15:15 – Ballyconneely Bay
This looks really tricky as Mark’s Choice is a handicap snip on his third in Saturday’s Great St Wilfrid but he is best at Ripon and is not so effective here. With rain about, a chance is taken on BALLYCONNEELY BAY with course specialist Kats Bob and Pockley others who are likely to go well.
15:45 – Melody King
The uncertain weather complicates things but Cotai West has to be respected off just 1lb higher than her narrow Newmarket win when seemingly doing the bare minimum. Soul Seeker was back to form in refitted cheekpieces at Pontefract and is still well treated on his old form but MELODY KING (nap), a strong-finishing third there, is taken to repeat his win in last year’s race.

16:15 – Lumberjack
Yorkindness finished ahead of newcomer LUMBERJACK when they met at Ripon in June and by rights should do so again but the selection was not unduly pressed once his chance had gone and he may improve enough to bridge the gap. Yorkindness has since been soundly beaten at Newmarket and, while the return to 1m3f can suit, her overall record is rather up and down.
16:45 – Wilkins
In what looks a strong contest, the two unexposed 3yos look the interesting ones with Pontefract winner WILKINS making most appeal, although significant rain would not be in his favour. Ripon winner Glam de Vega is an obvious danger with Highwaygrey the pick of the older horses.
17:20 – Haven Lady
Serious rain would bring Taxmeifyoucan into it while Ralphy Boy Two returned to form with a strong-finishing second here last time. The latter is a danger on that run but his modest strike-rate is off-putting and preference is for HAVEN LADY who ran creditably in a stronger race at Catterick on her most recent attempt over 1m4f. A reviving Cavendish would also figure.
