Fancy a shot at £20k at Glorious Goodwood today?

Willie Mullins’ Easy Game heads the weights for the Galway Plate as the Closutton handler bids to land the lucrative race for the second year on the bounce.

A bumper field of 21 go to post in Wednesday’s 6.40 at Galway and it should be a cracking renewal with the likes of last year’s Paddy Power Plate winner The Shunter and Sandown Gold Cup scorer Hewick among the runners.

There are also plenty of progressive horses towards the bottom of the weights including Gordon Elliott pair Ash Tree Meadow and Hurricane Georgie who will both attempt to bring up a four-timer.

The Galway Plate looks a proper head scratcher with many quality contenders and you can run the rule over the field by studying Timeform’s runner-by-runner guide below.

Galway Plate tips

Timeform: A fiercely competitive Galway Plate. Gordon Elliott has won three of the past six runnings and his fast improving young chaser ASH TREE MEADOW can add to that record by completing his four-timer off a favourable mark and gain much his biggest prize yet. El Barra appeals as the pick of the Willie Mullins challengers and heads the list of dangers, although The Shunter, Easy Game, Hurricane Georgie and Ronald Pump all warrant plenty of respect.
