18:30 Pontefract – Carnival Zain (Racing Post, RP Ratings)
CARNIVAL ZAIN has been in fine form since returning in March, following a narrow defeat on his Newcastle reappearance with wins at Catterick and Thirsk. Tactically versatile and much respected in his hat-trick bid from 4lb higher.
19:05 Stratford – Vaucelet (Daily Express, The Scout)
VAUCELET won the John Corbet Cup over C&D a year ago and has developed into one of Ireland’s top hunter chasers this season. Ran a big race in defeat in the Champion Hunters Chase at last month’s Punchestown festival and ought to be a very tough nut to crack here.
20:25 Haydock – Macho Pride (The Irish Field, Rory Delargy)
MACHO PRIDE had been struggling for form on the AW but he likes it here and returned to form with a close second of 15 over C&D last month. Could be bang there once more.
20:55 Haydock – Mambo Beat (Racing Post, Lambourn)
MAMBO BEAT was well beaten on his Newbury debut, but he showed more here and back at Newbury on next two starts. Opening mark not an obvious gift, but the new trip is a possible source of improvement. Gelded since last run.
