13:20 – Attache

Top of the list is ATTACHE, who really got his act together in first-time blinkers when scoring off a reduced mark at Brighton last Tuesday. He has a penalty back up in trip but this well-bred gelding hit a clear personal best with that breakthrough win and is open to more progress in headgear. The main danger is Life’s A Beach, who has shaped with promise in all of his three handicaps including when an eyecatching second behind the selection last week.

13:55 – Tarrabb

This can go to the well-bred filly TARRABB, who made a bright start when beating a 1-3 shot at Chelmsford three weeks ago and sets a good standard under a penalty for that comfortable success. The pick of the opposition could be Raqraaq, who stepped up on his debut form when a promising fourth at Windsor 25 days ago and is open to more progress on this drop back in trip.

14:30 – Monsieur Fantaisie

Preference is for MONSIEUR FANTAISIE, who travelled well for a long way before going very close at Bath last Friday and looks a strong contender off the same mark on this drop back in trip. Fossos returned to form with a close fifth over C&D two weeks ago and he’s feared most, though Hope Probe was a creditable third over 6f here last time and could be a big factor if this sets up for his closing style.

15:05 – Airshow

The vote goes to the admirably consistent 7yo AIRSHOW, who has had three wins and three seconds from his ten starts this year and is only 1lb higher than for his close call in a similar race at Bath last time. The main danger is Majeski Man, who has form figures of 1313 since joining John O’Shea and should make another bold bid in new headgear on his drop back in trip.

15:40 – Way Of Life (NAP)

The return of headgear could help trigger a revival from Dickens and he looks interesting for an in-form yard. Four-time winner Daphne May has shaped as though this new trip coud suit and she’s respected, while Commonsensical resumes off a workable mark and needs a close look on his first run for Hugo Palmer. However, the vote goes to the highly progressive WAY OF LIFE (nap), who made it five wins in a row when beating a clear second at Newbury and may well be able to strike again back at this trip.

    16:15 – King Of Ice

Ajero ran to a useful level behind a promising 3yo at Sandown last week and this classy hurdler should make another bold bid. Gaius, Ochil House and Follow That Star (second choice) all have something to recommend them, but KING OF ICE showed plenty of ability at two and should be even better over this longer trip.

    16:50 – Balhambar

William Haggas has his team in blistering form and his well-related newcomer Sea On Time has to be worth a close look in the betting. Matched has improvement in him, while Duelist’s 2yo form brings him right into the reckoning, but the one to beat could be BALHAMBAR. He is going to stay further in time, but there was plenty of promise at Salisbury 15 days ago and he remains capable of better.

    17:25 – Amalfi Bay

Thai Power couldn’t justify market support on his return from a long absence 15 days ago, but he is well handicapped if that run brings him on. Cogital (second choice) comes here in form, while Zillion goes well here, but AMALFI BAY may prove the answer. The Charltons’ 4yo shaped well over 1m2f on his reappearance and the extra yardage, and the benefit of Harry Davies’s 7lb claim, swings things in his favour.
