ISLAY OF ANGLESEY showed up well for a long way when third on his recent Newcastle debut and is taken to strike at the second time of asking. Zero Carbon also shaped nicely on his debut last month and may provide the chief threat. The Green Man is also respected, while How Much Further is a newcomer to note in the betting.

PLANSINA rattled home when second over C&D on her penultimate outing and was far from disgraced at Bath subsequently, so she gets the nod in the hope that they go a solid pace. Last-time-out C&D winner Lenny’s Spirit is an obvious danger and City Escape is worth a mention dropping back to a suitable trip.

BELIEVING finished with a flourish when runner-up to a useful one starting out at Newmarket last week, and with that experience unlikely to be lost on her, she can get off the mark. Archie Watson unleashed a good 2-y-o at the weekend and Dragon Glory makes a fair bit of appeal on paper.

This looks a good opportunity for ALPINE STROLL to belatedly shed his maiden tag having put in a good shift in a higher-grade handicap than this at Hamilton recently. He did well under the circumstances on that occasion and is now equipped with blinkers. Though not getting any younger, Lopes Dancer was successful last time and has claims, but Eagle One is second choice on the back of his solid effort at Chepstow. The hat-trick seeking Autonomy also merits respect.

GLORIOUS CHARMER has been in good form here and could resume winning ways in a thin contest. Nacho and Admirable Lad are a couple of the other more obvious contenders.
