14:10 – High Security
HIGH SECURITY again ran creditably when third at Beverley on Tuesday, racing closer to the strong gallop than ideal and sticking to his task well under the circumstances to be beaten less than three lengths. This will be a quick turnaround, but he is clearly on a good mark and another big run seems assured if he doesn’t do too much too soon this time.

14:40 – Gulmarg
GULMARG showed plenty of ability when filling the runner-up spot on his debut at Pontefract three weeks ago. Admittedly, he was no match for the winner, Yahsat, but that rival gave the form a boost when finishing second in a listed contest at York on Friday, while the third and fourth have also won since. It was clearly a strong race and Gulmarg is fancied to put that experience to good use here to get off the mark at the second attempt.
15:10 – Haunted Dream
After showing useful form when second at Newmarket on Thursday, HAUNTED DREAM ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before. He pulled clear with the progressive favourite and the first two were separated by just half a length at the line. Haunted Dream can race from the same mark here and it goes without saying that he is potentially well treated if running up to his best after just three days off.

15:40 – Benadalid
BENADALID returned to form when finding one too good on his latest outing at Doncaster, staying on well in the final furlong to pass the post less than two lengths behind the winner. That was a solid effort given that the race wasn’t run to suit (would have benefited from a stronger gallop) and it was certainly a step back in the right direction. He is still 4 lb below his last winning mark and this looks a good chance for him to gain a fifth success at his beloved Ripon.
16:10 – Sandbeck
Moved yards at the end of her two-year-old season, SANDBECK immediately showed improved form for Ed Bethell when making a winning handicap debut at Nottingham last month. That was a fairly useful performance to defy a BHA mark of 75, hitting the front inside the final furlong and always doing enough from there to get the verdict by a head. This will be tougher from a 6 lb higher mark, but she remains one to be interested in with further progress not out of the question.

16:40 – Holocene
There’s plenty of appeal for HOLOCENE on debut in a maiden where the runners with previous experience set just a fair standard. She has an attractive pedigree (by Ulysses out of the smart Heaven Sent) and trainer William Haggas is well capable of readying a newcomer. It’s also worth pointing out that Haggas has an excellent record at Ripon in recent years with 19 winners from 56 runners (34% strike rate) since the start of the 2017 season.
17:10 – Miss Britain
After producing a career best when third on her handicap debut at Thirsk eight days ago, keeping on well to be beaten less than a length, MISS BRITAIN is a good shout for this one. That was just the fourth start of her career and she is clearly getting better with racing. There should be handicaps to be won with her from a BHA mark of 63 and this looks as good an opportunity as any if building on the promise of her latest run.
