13:30 Goodwood – Al Mubhir
AL MUBHIR is obviously the unexposed runner in the lineup and he was talked up highly by his rider, William Buick, after winning on racecourse debut last year. We didn’t see him afterwards which is a shame but he was reportedly a bit spicy and maybe he just needed time to settle back down. He does need to improve but comes in under the ‘could be anything’ banner.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
13:50 Newmarket – Austrian Theory
AUSTRIAN THEORY ran some excellent races as a juvenile last season and showed that he had ‘trained on’ with a very solid return at this venue over a furlong shorter. It looks as if he may well be on the front-end all on his own, which is a very dangerous situation for the others. Nations Pride won a soft race over in Dubai and will need to up his game considerably back here.
14:25 Newmarket – Gubbass
GUBBASS won a couple of times last season including the Super Sprint at Newbury and put up an excellent performance in France at the highest level. On that occasion he was behind Perfect Power and he also saw that rival’s backside on return in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury. He hit the line well and can prove the class act in the race with Ryan Moore retaining the ride.

14:40 Goodwood – Clarendon House
He looked really good winning four of his six outings and CLARENDON HOUSE has proven that he can win fresh. The team around him are very hopeful that he can step further up the ladder out of handicap company as the season progresses. Jockey Ray Dawson needs a good horse to take him to the next level and he may just have found one in Clarendon House.
15:00 Newmarket – Another Batt
ANOTHER BATT put up an excellent return effort in the Lincoln at Doncaster and was subsequently punted off the boards for his last run up in Scotland. He probably ran to a similar level and has subsequently been dropped 1lb by the handicapper. Hollie Doyle gets the call and hopefully they will just drop him in with a few guaranteed pace angles and pick up the pieces late on.

15:15 Goodwood – Silence Please
SILENCE PLEASE is not a million miles clear on official ratings but does seem to hold a distinct class advantage having raced against some real top-drawer performers. The ease in grade will help on her first run for Park House Stables who appear to be hitting form. Bartzella has won two of her three starts so far but has upwards of 14lbs to find on official figures.
15:35 Newmarket – Yibir
YIBIR is going to be the cornerstone of many an accumulator on the start of the three-day meeting at Flat racing’s headquarters and a reproduction of any of his last three runs should be good enough to account for these. He will be held up and played late with the mile-and-a-quarter straight giving him plenty of time to do so.
