17:05 Southwell – Jakacan
Admittedly, JAKACAN is drawn a little bit deep in stall nine for his return to action off a winter break, but the fact he got his head in front after a long drought last time would suggest he’s worth sticking with. The yard have only had limited runners so far this campaign and Jakacan can get them off the mark. He’s still well treated off 53 when you consider he was rated 71 a year ago. He can take advantage and quickly climb out of this bottom-grade company.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
18:20 Dundalk – Lady of Luxury
LADY OF LUXURY has been knocking loudly on the door over shorter trip at Fundalk and deserves to slot one into the back of the net on Friday. Her only try previously at this 2m distance was in a maiden hurdle at Cork, so we can put a line through that effort. She’s not hiding too much from the handicapper, but can notch win number four on the all-weather now stepping up in distance.
18:40 Southwell – Pangloss
PANGLOSS was a massive eye-catcher last time over this 1m distance at Wolverhampton when, after a slow start, he made a massive move from the top of the straight to finish on the heels of the leaders. He was the only one to make any ground from the back of the pack so the run has to be upgraded. He can be the first leg of a double for the Alan King- Martin Harley combo.

19:10 Southwell – Asadjumeirah
Picked up for £10,000 at the horses-in-training sale, ASADJUMEIRAH has quickly started to live up to his pedigree for the new connections. He’s won twice and hardly put a foot wrong in the other races. It’s only his second try at this venue and he’s a much improved model for his return. A mark of 86 is still not his ceiling rating.
19:40 Southwell – Rampoldi Plan
RAMPOLDI PLAN had a nice introduction to racing last season and now he tackles a much more realistic distance. Given his pedigree we can expect an improved display for the same Alan King-Martin Harley combo again. He has had the cruelest cut of all by being gelded since we last saw him and he goes up against fellow improver Captain Square.

20:20 Dundalk – Wave Walker
WAVE WALKER has become extremely frustrating for three different trainers but now looks to be tried over an ideal distance of 10f. The booking of superstar jockey Colin Keane in the saddle can make the difference. A reproduction of his run in early 2021 behind Stay With Me would surely be good enough to land the finale. He has the inside position from box one, so will be scraping paint all the way around under the Irish champion.
