WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
Uttoxeter 13:55 – LLEYTON
LLEYTON cashed in on a much-reduced mark to win his first race over hurdles since 2018 at Wetherby last week on his first start since returning to this yard and he looks ahead of the game under a penalty for that easy win. He is therefore worth backing to follow up, but there a few potential improvers in this who also need considering, notably Duke of Luckley and Tarseem.

14:30 – PRINCE DES FICHAUX
PRINCE DES FICHAUX has a good pedigree and made an encouraging start to his career when runner-up to a 5/1-on favourite in a novice hurdle at Hereford earlier this month, given a patient ride but moving into the race later on and doing all of his best work at the finish. That experience won’t be lost on him and he appears to have been found an excellent opportunity to go one place better now. Arizona Cardinal, who was a winner at Warwick last month, looks the main danger.
15:00 – YGGDRASIL
YGGDRASIL has made a positive start to his chase career and the best is surely yet to come from this five-year-old, who put in a good round of jumping and stayed on well when narrowly prevailing at Hereford last time. The hat-trick seeking Karl Philippe is bound to be popular, but he made hard work of it at Ludlow and may struggle to confirm the placings with the third in that race Kakamora, who enjoys a 6 lb pull and is likely to appreciate the better ground here.
15:35 – SAINTE DOCTOR
SAINTE DOCTOR showed the benefit of a breathing operation when winning her second start in a handicap on her return from 14 months off at Newton Abbot last May and has found only one too good both starts back from another break since. She still has relatively few miles on the clock and remains one to be interested in from this sort of mark. Dicey Rielly is interesting making a quick switch to handicaps, while My Girl Lollipop completes the shortlist.
16:10 – STORM OF LIGHT
STORM OF LIGHT showed the benefit of his hurdling debut when opening his account over two and a half miles at this course in November and has run creditably twice since from a 2 lb higher mark than this. He finished with a flourish stepped up to this sort of trip at Market Rasen last time where he didn’t seem suited by the sharp nature of the track and he looks a horse that is up to winning a staying handicap from this sort of mark. River Legend looks the obvious danger.

16:45 – CLEMENCIA
CLEMENCIA arrives on a losing run but signalled he’s ready to strike again when a good third at Hereford last month and can race off a 1lb lower mark now (form also been franked). He looks the way to go in a trappy handicap, though top weight Kilbrook is proving a consistent sort and seems sure to have a say with Premier d’Troice also weighted to make his mark.
17:20 – TOUCHY FEELY
TOUCHY FEELY had Jasmiwa back in sixth when finding just one too good on debut at Newbury and while the latter is entitled to come on for the run, the same is true of Nicky Henderson’s charge, who may well have emerged on top that day but for hanging in the closing stages. Insolente Nelsa and Passing Reflection are interesting newcomers, particularly the latter, while point winners Copperfasten and Maid of The Night also merit respect.
