13:30 – Brewers Project
It could be worth chancing BREWERS PROJECT, who is yet to match his fairly useful hurdling form in three runs over fences, but there’s time for this point winner to come good in this sphere yet. His latest effort was his best over fences so far, though, and a step up to three miles could be the catalyst for him to open his account. Certainly Red has a handicap like this in him if jumping better and is put forward as the danger.

14:05 – Siroco Jo
SIROCO JO promises to do much better as a chaser judged on a promising start at Wincanton last month where he finished second. He was interestingly very strong in the market on that occasion and showed plenty of aptitude for the job, and he could be the answer to what is a tricky puzzle now that the Paul Nicholls yard is in much better form. Rockstar Ronnie chases a hat-trick and is second choice, ahead of Golden Boy Grey.
14:40 – Brief Times
BRIEF TIMES has made a very bright start to his career and, while he may have lost his unbeaten record on handicap debut at Wincanton back in January, he still emerged with plenty of credit in finishing second to a well-handicapped sort. He is now upped significantly in trip, which is sure to suit, and Neil Mulholland’s charge is fancied to resume winning ways. Press Your Luck ran out a decisive winner last time so he’s fancied to be in the mix, along with Solo and Dorking Boy.

15:15 – Debece
DEBECE still lurks on a handy mark and he got right back on track when third at Newcastle last time, given an aggressive ride but going with plenty of fluency before being picked up in the closing stages. He could yet come forward again for that run and is fancied to come out on top, likely at the chief expense of veteran Native Robin, who is thriving despite his advancing years and bids for a four-timer. Espoir de Guye needs considering too on the back of his Warwick success.
15:50 – Signal Point
SIGNAL POINT was perhaps unsuited by very testing ground at Warwick last time, still looking threatening on the home turn, but finding little once asked for her effort. The return to sounder conditions should help and she can resume her progression and ensure that Cool Stone has to settle for the runner-up spot again. Malakahna looks best of the remainder.

16:25 – Latitude
This is a significantly better race than the maiden LATITUDE won on his debut in this sphere at Ludlow, but there was much to like about that performance (travelled strongly and quickened well) and his speed could again prove decisive kept to a sharp, right-hand track on what should be fast enough conditions. Earth Lord sets the standard on form and is clear second choice ahead of French-import Balkeo.
17:00 – Peace of Rome
PEACE OF ROME is related to no less than six Flat winners and he is in excellent hands, so he’s worth chancing to make a successful debut at the likely expense of Diamond Egg, who outran odds of 33/1 to finish fifth in a listed event at Cheltenham on debut. The well-bred Kaleb is another one to consider after a positive start at Plumpton.
