13:20 – Del La Mar Rocket
Ben Pauling had a winner at the Festival and expect his DEL LA MAR ROCKET to be ridden positively with his stamina guaranteed at this distance. The same is not true of Cousu Main, so Nothin To Ask rates the main danger.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
13:50 – No Word of a Lie
The unexposed novices Serious Charges and Pulling Stumps both make some appeal, but this will be a thorough test and very different to the races they have been winning. Silva Eclipse looks booked for another big run, but NO WORD OF A LIE has been banging at the door in handicaps and the step up in trip could be the catalyst for the requisite improvement.
14:25 – Saint Palais
Often a strong handicap for novices and this will take some winning. SAINT PALAIS was taken out of his comfort zone behind Ahoy Senor in Grade 2 company last time but that might not happen back in a handicap, and his previous Newbury form was franked at the Festival. Young Bull had some eyecatching form early last season and he shaped encouragingly on his return from an absence. Fuji Flight is on a roll and also respected.

15:00 – Boothill
Cases can be made for a few of these but BOOTHILL would be very threatening if repeating his third at Ascot earlier in the season and he was inconvenienced by the lack of pace when not running badly in the Betfair Hurdle. Beauport deserves a break but has got himself high in the weights, while Red Risk has gone up 11lb. Perhaps Panic Attack will prove most troublesome off her light weight.
15:35 – Time To Get Up (NAP)
No horse has ever won this race twice but TIME TO GET UP (nap) was having only his fourth start over fences when successful 12 months ago and there’s more to come from him. Although well beaten in the end last time at Haydock, he moved with a purpose for much of the race and he’ll be fitter for this. The dangers are others with a history in this race, as second choice Screaming Colours will be more at home under these conditions than when a close fourth 12 months ago and Truckers Lodge, who hacked up two years ago in the mud, returns to the scene of that finest hour on the back of two sterling efforts.

16:10 – Gaot
Starvoski could be very well handicapped after turning her back on fences but it has been a subdued season thus far and Kim Bailey turns to cheekpieces. Not that GAOT is cast iron after nine defeats in Britain but she does at least give her running more often than not. C&D winner Branson Missouri is the other to consider.
16:45 – Mille Sussurri
Harry Fry’s MILLE SUSSURRI ran really well in his first two chases and there’s good reason to forgive his below-par run at Taunton. Coupdebol has to be respected after winning so well at Warwick and Honorary Colonel should again be thereabouts.
17:18 – Master Chewy
Gaelic Park and Kracka Nut (second choice) won their bumpers very tidily but neither of the horses they beat was able to frank the form next time. MASTER CHEWY almost certainly achieved more when pushing a talented – and more experienced – rival close at Chepstow and this expensive recruit from the Irish point scene can go one better.
