WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

17:00 – INISHMONT PRINCE

A 5f handicap sprint starts the night and Collective Power has been running well without getting his head in front and was second last time to the improving INISHMONT PRINCE. They renew rivalry and the four-year-old looked like he was just doing enough when winning then and a 4lb penalty shouldn’t stop him. James Ryan’s 7lb claim is a big help.

17:30 – FORM OF PRAISE

A claiming race over 7f where Colin Keane is an interesting booking for Satin Snake. However, the ex-UK-trained FORM OF PRAISE ran well on his Irish debut and drops to claiming class with Cian MacRedmond taking off a valuable 5lb. He should go very well from stall one.

18:00 – Linus Larrabee

Eddie Lynam and Declan McDonogh team up with Linus Larrabee in what could be a good night for the pair. The five-year-old has been given a break after two quick runs last month as he looks to repeat a sole course and distance win back in November 2020off a rating of 61. He races off 59 on Friday night and they’ve reached for the tongue strap again. With a reasonable draw in stall four he can go close to getting back to winning ways.

18:30 – Dances With Stars

An ultra-competitive handicap over 10f where Colin Keane is an interesting booking for the top weight, Dalvey who ran a great race behind Bowerman last time. Top weight dents my confidence a little though and while Elzaamsan makes his handicap company after failing to win a maiden, the one to concentrate on is Dances With Stars who was second to the re-opposing No Trouble last time out. He can gain her revenge tonight.

19:00 – Nudge The Judge

The fifth race is an apprentice contest where it may pay to follow the senior rider, Joey Sheridan, on Nudge the Judge. He returns from a winter stint in Dubai and is an interesting booking. Nudge The Judge went off way too quickly last time, but from stall two with the cheekpieces fitted, can make amends. Crystal Pool is another to note for in-form trainer Pat Martin but the draw hasn’t been kind in stall 11.

19:30 – Merisi (NAP)

We’ve been stung by Havana Pearl a couple of times so I’ll swerve her tonight with Joseph O’Brien’s Merisi. She was a real eye-catcher over 10f on her last start when making good ground before fading in the closing stages, The drop back to a mile tonight should suit and she’s my nap of the evening’s action. The one negative is the stall 17 draw, but the stand side has been the place to be in recent weeks and she can hopefully overcome the draw.

20:00 – San Andreas

Despite the small field, this is a cracking winners’ race.  Bowerman bounced back to form last time over 10f and drops back to a mile with Colin Keane aboard. However, San Andreas has a great record at Dundalk, is well in at the ratings and top apprentice Jake Coen is booked.

20:30 – Punk Poet

Eddie Lynam’s runner Punk Poet kept on well to chin Super Over at this venue a fortnight ago and can go in again. A 3lb rise mightn’t be enough to stop him especially from a half decent draw in stall eight under Declan McDonogh.
