17:30 – Arousing

This looks a competitive race despite the small field. Night Narcissus won well at Wolverhampton 11 days ago and could still have a bigger effort in her, while Mellys Flyer is 2-2 over C&D and showed smart speed to win on last month’s reappearance. The giant Many A Star starts out for a new yard on a dangerous mark but it remains to be seen how he’ll cope with the configuration of this track. AROUSING leaves the impression there may be a bigger run in her back at 6f and she can come out on top.

18:00 – True Icon

Nikki’s Girl comes here in good form and should make another bold bid, with Ummsuquaim another to consider now dropping back in distance. TRUE ICON has the widest stall to contend with but she won easily at Lingfield last time and is bred to be a fair bit better than this mark.

18:30 – Ribbon Rose

Cotai Star is an interesting newcomer who needs a close market check, while Tickets and the Jane Chapple-Hyam pair Nafee and Kickbox are capable of better. RIBBON ROSE saw off a big field at Newmarket on her only 2yo start though and she can defy her penalty on this switch to AW.

19:00 – Allowed

In a very competitive line-up, a five-timer for Almufeed is one of the most likely outcomes, given the style in which he’s been winning, but the hat-trick seeking ALLOWED may be open to even greater progress. Diamond Bay was on the march when he was last seen, in October, and several others have been in good form much more recently.

19:30 – Mcqueen

Shorts On made a winning start for his new yard at Southwell and he’s respected on this step back up in trip, but preference is for MCQUEEN, who has won on Polytrack in the last two of his three handicaps and did really well to overcome trouble over C&D last time. Amjad and Bulleit could make a big impact if this sets up for their closing style, while there are plenty of handicap newcomers who need watching in the market including the very well-bred Bold And Loyal.

20:00 – Power On (NAP)

Most of these have something to prove and the one that stands out is POWER ON (nap), who escapes a penalty for his strong-finishing win at Lingfield last week and has strong claims if he can repeat that form. The main threat could come from Twentysharesofgrey, who swooped late to score at Southwell on her penultimate run and had an excuse at Wolverhampton last time. Others who could be in the mix are Edessann and Dors Toyboy.

20:30 – Rainbow Sign

Plenty are in with a shout. In-form duo Reformed Character and Chloellie both need considering at the foot of the weights, and C&D scorer Royal Heart seems sure to be on the premises too. But RAINBOW SIGN signalled he’s ready to open his account when an excellent second over 6f here last time and can go one better off a reduced mark.
