Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
SILVER GUNN was successful three times on turf last year and may have more to offer this term, as he still has low mileage. Had an irregular heartbeat when last seen and gelded since. Has bit to prove back on AW for this reappearance run but market support should be heeded.
PICANHA won his only point and his only bumper, and landed a maiden hurdle at Warwick (2m5f, soft) in December on his second start back from a long absence. Well beaten in Grade 2 novice at Cheltenham since but has far more realistic claims on this handicap debut and this very lightly raced 8yo is respected.
NICHOLAS T is 2-2 over C&D, having won the Northumberland Plate (off 3lb lower) last June and a conditions race in December. He’s a 10yo now and takes on some progressive rivals but deserves some respect kept to this scenario.
ART EXPERT is 0-11 and this is his first run beyond 9.4f, but he’s been placed on three of his last four starts and finished well when a close second at Wolverhampton (9.4f, Tapeta) on Friday, so there can be hope he’ll stay this far.
