12:35 – MARCO ISLAND
Irish point winner Tango Tara has considerable scope to progress from last month’s Taunton second and is not opposed with any confidence but MARCO ISLAND probably achieved more when second here a few days earlier and he gets the nod. Realm Of Glory showed more than enough on his bumper debut to suggest he can also play a significant role.

13:08 – HACKER DES PLACES (NAP)
Ballybreeze was fourth in a warm Aintree novice in December and subsequently finished third off today’s mark on his handicap debut. He’s open to improvement if he settles better in the early stages here but this is a big drop in class for HACKER DES PLACES (nap), who made the frame in a valuable Lingfield handicap last month and could be a very tough nut to crack at this level off a 3lb lower mark.
13:43 – TILE TAPPER
Lady Of The Night made a good start to her chasing career one month ago and is respected but this can go to TILE TAPPER, who ran well for a long way when fourth in what has turned out to be a hot novice handicap on his chasing debut in December and can be excused his subsequent lesser effort. If judged on some of last season’s hurdling form, Chris Down’s 8yo is now very well handicapped. Fearless is next on the list.

14:18 – BRINKLEY
There are a few question marks attached to this field but Ballyandy looks likely to run his race following the easy win at Fakenham and BRINKLEY has a big shout if his latest start (over fences two months ago) can be forgiven. Ask For Glory returns to action for the first time since October 2020 and has had yet another wind operation.
14:53 – DESTINED TO SHINE
Likely front-runner Eclair D’Ainay could be very difficult to catch if he gets into a good jumping rhythm but the suggestion is DESTINED TO SHINE, who still looks well handicapped after his recent close shave at Wetherby. Fugitif will find this easier than his latest assignment and also features prominently in calculations.
15:28 – STORM FORCE BEN
He has a point to prove after last month’s duff effort but STORM FORCE BEN began his chasing career with two very creditable runs in higher-grade company at Exeter and could be hard to beat here if back on song. Ivilnoble has been knocking loudly on the door this winter and is feared most. Today’s move back up to a staying trip ought to suit Daenerys Stormborn, who hasn’t been with Henry Oliver long.
16:00 – HIGH COUNSEL
The oldest runner in the line-up HIGH COUNSEL ran a big race in defeat when fourth at Carlisle this month and is taken to exploit his career-low mark here. Bretney has remained in good form since his December win and should also go well but a bigger threat to the selection may from Kestrel Valley, who is well handicapped on hurdling form and seems to be getting his act together over fences.
16:35 – MARTY BYRDE
John Flint’s MARTY BYRDE went down fighting when a clear second on heavy ground at Exeter last month and a similar performance here will set the bar fairly high. What A Steal should progress from his Warwick third and is second choice. Churchills Boy won a point bumper in December and it will be interesting to see how well he copes with today’s switch to racing under rules.
