It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

15:35 Ludlow – I K Brunel (Morning Star, Farringdon)
I K BRUNEL is back to form this season and stuck to his guns admirably when edging home at Newbury two months ago. Only 3lb higher and subsequent break is probably a good thing given his effectiveness when fresh.
16:10 Ludlow – Lounge Lizzard (Ben Morgan)
LOUNGE LIZZARD went close on soft ground at Market Rasen (2m4f) and could have settled better when a 13l second at Huntingdon. Cheekpieces are an interesting addition now and he goes handicapping unexposed.
16:20 Newcastle – Run Teddy Run (Steve Mullington)
RUN TEDDY RUN cost £47,000 as a yearling and is the second foal of a 1m winner. He’s from a respected yard and should be in the reckoning. Watch for market movement.
18:00 Kempton – Run Forrest Run (Andrew Mount)
RUN FORREST RUN is winless from six goes on the AW but he looks to be running into form. Was denied a clear run but still beaten just 2l when fifth at Lingfield last time and shaped well over 1m here the time before. Probably best at 7f and his last two successes have come for Trevor Whelan.
