13:15 Newbury – Bravemansgame
ITV Saturday gets under way here with a limited handicap chase over nearly 3m. There is no doubt the weight differential makes this interesting for BRAVEMANSGAME but despite having to give chunks away I still expect the Paul Nicholls Grade 1 winner to be good enough to score. His form looks solid – in fact much better than that currently of the Paul Nicholls stable. That said, hard to oppose. Gallyhill once looked very promising. He’s a massive price but has ability – or at least had it!

13:35 Warwick – Indefatigable
ITV are also at Warwick starting with this Listed mares’ hurdle over 2m5f. INDEFATIGABLE really should be a good thing here for Paul Webber and Rex Dingle. The mare returned with a fine win at Wetherby with Paisley Park back in third, and then was poor at New hey before returning to form at Cheltenham behind Martello Sky. The former Martin Pipe winner at Cheltenham can get back to winning ways.
13:50 Newbury – Risk And Roll
Here’s a handicap hurdle over 3m. This is pretty open. RISK AND ROLL appeared to be gagging for this trip when scoring at Huntingdon last time and now he’s found his niche might be able to follow up off 10lb higher. He has been on 130 before over fences so it’s not impossible he can cope with the better race and he might just surprise a few for Tabitha Worsley and trainer Jamie Evans.
14:05 Warwick – Third Time Lucki
Here’s a Grade 2 novices’ chase over 2m. This is a corker with Edardstone taking on THIRD TIME LUCKI. The former is the form horse, but there is something about the Dan Skelton runner I really like and he was back to form at Doncaster last time when ridden from off the pace. Jockey Harry Skelton is getting the hang of this boy. He was reported to have a slight injury after last effort but apparently it was less than first thought.

14:25 Newbury – Clan Des Obeaux
This is the Grade 2 Denman Chase over nearly 3m. A good clash between CLAN DES OBEAUX and Royale Pagaille but with no sign of a deluge I would expect the former to have too much pace. The Paul Nicholls runner has been off the track since finishing second in the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day and while that was not a brilliant effort it wasn’t a disaster either. Should take some beating for Harry Cobden.
15:00 Newbury – Sceau Royal
Another Grade 2 here in the Game Spirit over an extended 2m. Nothing on here going to be winning the Champion Chase. SCEAU ROYAL is not getting any you get but he beat Champ in this last year and that kind of ability should be enough to score for Alan King and James Bowen. Has been hurdling recently but as that success suggests fences are no issue. He’s just been placed well.

15:15 Warwick – Jacamar
Now we have a handicap chase over 2m4f. Arguably the hardest race of the day. JACAMAR might be able to bounce back from a defeat at Cheltenham last time for Milton Harris and jockey Harry Reed. Having previously been in great form, Jacamar was up In the weights but I’m not sure that was the reason for his lame effort as he jumped terribly. If he pings today he might be back in the each-way mix.
15:35 Newbury – Boothill
Now the big betting race of the day in a Grade 3 handicap hurdle over an extended 2m. BOOTHILL might be worth a few quid eachway here for Sean Bowen and Harry Fry. The seven-year-old is not a typical improver for this race having been poor over fences last time. But the lightly raced type returned this season with a fine third in a good handicap hurdle at Ascot and goes off the same mark here of 135. He travelled like a machine that day and is better off with winner Soaring Glory.
So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
