Jet Plane has a solid profile and is respected but DUBROVNIK HARRY looked something out of the ordinary when winning at Exeter last month and should follow up. Anglers Crag’s Cheltenham entries suggest he’s held in some regard too, and market support would bring him into the equation.

14:20 Ballinsker
The safest option is BALLINSKER who goes well on a sound surface and arrives here after a creditable second just ten days ago. Sam Barton has been disappointing so far over fences but it’s possible things will click on this second outing after wind surgery. Muckamore is third on the list.
14:50 Ladykiller
Lively Citizen, pulled up through no fault of his own at Cheltenham on Saturday, has a solid profile and seems likely to give a good account of himself, but it remains to be seen if he can give weight and a beating to David Pipe’s LADYKILLER. The selection was useful on the Flat in Germany and makes a swift switch to handicapping after just two runs in novice hurdles. Caddyhill and Applesandpierres are others to consider.

None of these can safely be ruled out. Three of them crossed swords over C&D last month, filling the places, and even on today’s revised terms FAMILY BUSINESS can come out on top once more, having scored with something in hand. Crealion and Kilbrook should be thereabouts again but perhaps a bigger threat will come from Patroclus, who may have needed the run when pulled up on his chase debut, and he benefits from a swift 5lb drop.
15:50 Electron Bleu (NAP)
A mixed bag of weight-droppers and handicap debutants. The most interesting in the latter category is Concrete King, already a winner four times in points. Gerolamo Cardano’s mark had tumbled prior to his most recent run and he’ll be dangerous if building on that, but preference is for ELECTRON BLEU (nap) who had some useful form back in the day and may benefit from a change of scenery. At either end of the weights, Punxsutawney Phil and Pittsburg complete the shortlist.
