16:30 No Diggity

The most striking contender is NO DIGGITY, who has gone very close over C&D in his last two starts and has leading claims at the weights back in a classified event. Recent course winner Pedestal is feared most, though Extracuricular was a good second at this track on Wednesday and is respected on her step back up in trip. Others who could be dangerous are Mr Dib Dab, Broughtons Peace and Just Albert.

17:00 Noble Order

It’s hard to get away from NOBLE ORDER who achieved enough in his two starts in the autumn to suggest he’s more than capable of winning a maiden at this time of year. Love Mystery didn’t enjoy the rub of the green at Wolverhampton and may prove next best ahead of Mizmar.

17:30 Sid’s Annie

Mark Usher’s SID’S ANNIE deserves credit for reaching a place on her handicap debut considering how freely she raced and she can show she’s on a workable mark if proving more tractable in a refitted hood. Subjective Value is feared most on the back of his all-the-way Wolverhampton success. El Bello and Decorated Doll rate possible improvers in handicaps.

18:00 Alhammaam (NAP)

Lafan has a good overall AW record and can get straight back on track after a lesser run last time but preference is for ALHAMMAAM (nap), who arrives on the back of two good runner-up efforts in handicaps and can provide his in-form trainer with another winner.

18:30 Oceanline

This can go to OCEANLINE, who was runner-up behind a progressive rival in a higher grade over C&D last time and is only 1lb higher than for that close call. The main danger is Imperium, who has an impressive record on AW and was not far behind the selection here three weeks ago.

19:05 Charlie Arthur

Preference is for CHARLIE ARTHUR, who got back on the scoresheeet with a brave win at Southwell two weeks ago and remains well treated on his best form last winter, including on Polytrack. Red Flyer hit a personal best with his narrow defeat here in September and is a big danger if he can pick up where he left off for a new yard. Third choice is Sophosc, who had an excuse behind an improver in a tactical event last time and looks interesting on this big drop back in grade.

19:35 Northern

Wednesday’s winner Tulane deserves plenty of respect with Jonny Peate again in the saddle but preference is for NORTHERN who has fewer miles on the clock. Hannalite is still a maiden but she’s in form and should be thereabouts once more.
