Midnight Shadow is a great price. He impressed in the November meeting at Cheltenham when winning the Paddy Power Gold Cup. He has been hit with a 7lb rise for that but he’s good enough to win again. I’ve tipped up Dostal Phil in the past but I’ll have to side with Midnight Shadow.

I fancied Tommys Oscar at Haydock last time out and he impressed there. He drops down to 2m here and that’s more suitable for him. I’ll ride with Tommys Oscar again.

I’m all over Blazing Khal. I don’t think he jumped well last time out but he still got the job done. He’ll have improved since then and the step up in trip will suit him. Blazing Khal all the way.

15:00 Cheltenham – Sceau Royal
Heaven Help Us will go forward and be allowed to dictate the running of this one. Song For Someone will be near the front too but if Aidan Coleman makes his move too far out they will both burn out. That sets it up for a closer and I hope Daryl Jacob just sits behind them on Sceau Royal. He can move late on and win.
15:15 Doncaster – Two For Gold
I fancy Two For Gold for David Bass and Kim Bailey. The small field will suit him and he’ll have more than enough.
15:35 Cheltenham – Martello Sky
It’s between Martello Sky and Indefatigable in this one. However, if you’re on Indefatigable, make sure she looks like she wants to be there and is willing to go forward because she definitely didn’t want to be there at Newbury in November!
