13:50 Cheltenham – Siruh Du Lac (Each Way)
Siruh Du Lac is still only an eight-year-old but obviously has had some issues considering he has only had two runs for Pipe since switching to him 15 months ago. He won six of his first eight starts over fences, including here on Trials day in 2019 off 134 and then the Plate when winning at 9/2 off 141. He fell in the 2020 renewal of the Plate when a length ahead at the second last and that was off a mark of 150 and you couldn’t say for sure that he wasn’t going to go close. He had a spin over hurdles at the end of October and with the handicapper dropping him 7lbs since his last chase start he looks worth taking a chance on here.

14:25 Cheltenham – Blazing Khal
Blazing Khal is 2-2 over hurdles and appeared to improve plenty last time when stepping up to 2m5f. He had Gelino Bello and Current Mood behind that day and I can’t see how they improve past time, when he was the one who shaped like he would improve the most for going up to 3m. His win at Galway was franked by the second Gringo D’aubrelle winning a bumper and a maiden hurdle on his next two starts.

14:40 Doncaster – Knight Salute
Knight Salute is a little underestimated. He has already beaten Magistrato and Impulsive One, and was impressive enough at Cheltenham last time in a Grade 2 when winning by just under 3l. Paddy Brennan is up again and the yard are having an excellent season with 29 winners already. Porticello is the danger as he came from France with a decent reputation and won a Listed race at Wetherby on first start for the Moore’s despite conceding weight all round. His jumping will have to be better here though.

15:00 Cheltenham – Heaven Help Us
Heaven Help Us looks underestimated here too. She won the Coral Cup by 9l at the festival off a mark of 139 and is now rated 150. She gets 9lbs off Sceau Royal (158) and Song For Someone (155) too. She also won here as a novice over 2m when she beat Master Debonair and Fred and wasn’t disgraced when 7th in Shishkin’s Supreme. There’s a chance she could get an easy lead here and could be dangerous if the others allow that to happen.
15:15 Doncaster – Kauto Riko
Kim Bailey won this last year with Rocky’s Treasure, and Two For Gold could be the most fancied horse in the race, but I wouldn’t be rushing to back him at the same time. KAUTO RIKO is very well handicapped off 138 in a race where everything has a question mark over it.
15:35 Cheltenham – Martello Sky
Lucy Wadham won this last year with The White Mouse and has every chance of repeating the trick here with Martello Sky. She shaped okay in the Mares Novice when 8th but was staying on strongly, suggesting the trip was too sharp and she came back here in April and won easily over 2m4f. She bolted up in a handicap at Market Rasen over 2m4f off 132 and the third Earlofthecotswolds has won twice since, including a good Newbury handicap to frank the form. She went 100/30 joint favourite for the Betway Hurdle at Aintree last month but was only fourth behind Bewinupastorm, but to be fair she ran close enough to her rating. The handicapper has dropped her a pound to 140 and now down in grade and back in against mares, she makes strong appeal here.
