11:50 Desert Lime
DESERT LIME has made an encouraging start to her career and she didn’t need to improve to get off the mark here a few weeks ago. That victory was achieved over 6 furlongs, but Desert Lime will have no issue with the return to 7 furlongs as she was only narrowly denied at the trip at Newcastle, a track which provides a much stiffer test of stamina. Desert Lime is still open to improvement after only three starts and she goes handicapping from a fair opening mark.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
12:20 Bonita B
BONITA B disappointed at Yarmouth last time, but she had been a model of consistency before that, finishing in the frame on her 11 previous outings. Her penultimate effort, when runner-up at Yarmouth, was her best performance on the figures and she remains on a competitive mark.
12:50 Lovely Breeze
LOVELY BREEZE has had a busy campaign – she has had 12 starts in 2021 – but she is holding her form well and ran right up to her best when runner-up at Wolverhampton a few weeks ago. That effort came on the back of a creditable second at Kempton and Lovely Breeze should continue to give a good account.
13:25 Rafiot
RAFIOT is compiling a good record on the all-weather and he enhanced his strike rate on Polytrack when scoring at Kempton last time. Rafiot was an authoritative winner of that mile-and-a-half handicap, impressing with how he pulled 4-and-a-quarter lengths clear in the style of a horse who is a fair way ahead of his mark. He has a 7lbs rise in the weights to deal with here and is up significantly in trip, but he shapes as if he can deal with this sort of test and is worth siding with.
14:00 Emblem Empire
EMBLEM EMPIRE is a promising type and should prove difficult to beat on his handicap debut. He shaped with obvious promise when runner-up on her debut at Kempton in August and then backed up that positive impression when getting off the mark over this course and distance.
Emblem Empire had no problem defying a penalty at Chelmsford, showing much better form in the process to register a 5-length success, and he is likely to prove much better than this opening mark. He can prove a cut above his three rivals.
14:30 Equal Share
EQUAL SHARE was noted doing some good late work when fifth on debut at Salisbury in September and she could be a different proposition with that experience under her belt. Equal Share should also be suited by stepping up a furlong in trip as she is by a stamina influence in Australia and she saw things out well at Salisbury.
15:00 Carnival Girl
CARNIVAL GIRL has an excellent pedigree, being by New Approach and out of Yorkshire Oaks winner Punctilious, and she shaped with obvious promise when fourth on her debut at Newmarket a month ago.
Carnival Girl was very green on her debut over an inadequate 7 furlongs at Newmarket, but she kept on well in the closing stages without being knocked about – offering encouragement that she will improve for the experience and this step up in trip.
15:30 Libbretta
LIBBRETTA was well beaten on her return at Kempton last time on her first crack at 2m, but she shaped better than the result would suggest. Libbretta, an unconsidered 50/1 shot, was making headway but was stopped in her run approaching two furlongs out.
She is interesting now back down in trip to a mile-and-a-half, a distance she has proven her effectiveness over, while this is also a lesser event. She should not be underestimated.
