The form standard is set by Doncaster runner-up SUFFRAJET but she’s only a tentative selection, as most of the other once-raced fillies look capable of improvement and some of the newcomers are interesting (any positive market moves should be heeded). Equally tentative second choice is Suffrajet’s stablemate World Without Love, ahead of Oblong Song and Yummylicious. It’s also impossible to rule out Ralph Beckett’s two runners. Mimikyu is first choice among the debutantes but the betting should help to sort out the pecking order.
The top two on the shortlist are the Farhh colts SHIGAR and Flamborough in that order of preference. Schmilsson has possibilities dropped to 1m and Rockfire also can’t be dismissed. Desert Crown is first choice among the newcomers.
Slight preference is for GLAM DE VEGA, whose debut form ties in closely with Shigar who is the selection in the first division. Walk Of Stars is feared most, ahead of Duty Bound. Matched is first choice among the newcomers.

Granted better fortune at the start, BAZALGETTE may be able to reverse last month’s C&D placings with Four Notes who is strongly respected all the same. Four of the others, notably Rollajam and Box To Box, are interesting now trying 1m for the first time.
The suggestion in a competitive race is DIAMOND CUTTER, who looks the one open to the most improvement in just his third handicap and on his first run at this trip. Fellow 3yo Forever William is feared most after catching the eye with his finishing burst here last time and also on the shortlist is Cemhaan, who would have been an unlucky loser had he not got up in the nick of time at Salisbury.
Dark Shot is likely to give it his all again but RAASEL (nap) was so impressive here last week and, although his recent wins have been on good and good to soft going, he made light of soft when winning a useful novice at two. He is 8lb well in under a penalty and is the one to beat. Pendleton has not gone on from the high promise of earlier in the year but conditions will suit now back at 5f and is third on the list.
In a wide-open sprint, a chance is taken on I’M MABLE, who wasn’t beaten far last time and could be unexposed at 5f. The in-form Captain Corcoran is second choice, ahead of Company Minx, Mansfield and the unpenalised Helvetian. A market move for the stable switcher Amasova would be significant.
There could be more to come from Meadow Sprite, who came good at Yarmouth last month and remains lightly raced, but this is a significant drop in grade for SANDYMAN, who was second in a 0-90 event over C&D last month. That was just his second start for Michael Appleby and his first for five months, so there’s a decent chance he can post an even better effort today. Last year’s third Regular Income disappointed on his stable debut but will be dangerous off his current mark if back on song.
