12:30 Good Risk At All

GOOD RISK AT ALL was among the top bumper performers last season, winning listed events at Cheltenham and Newbury, and that form looks very solid. The ones with experience don’t set an exacting standard in this maiden hurdle, and he looks a really exciting jumping prospect for a yard going places. Hardkore is interesting on his first outing, while Dynamite Kentucky could have more to offer this winter.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:00 Representing Bob

This isn’t a high-end handicap, but is very likely to prove a strong race for the grade, with REPRESENTING BOB awarded the vote from what could be a very lenient hurdles mark given his chase form in recent weeks. He has been liberated by a switch to that discipline on his return from a break, winning with any amount in hand at Bangor last week, and now races from a 5 lb lower mark back over timber. Handicap debutants Earl of Wisdom and Gosuatri are a couple of likely improvers for top yards.

13:30 Frisco Bay

A host in with chances but FRISCO BAY makes the most appeal for the bang in-form Jonjo O’Neill yard. He matched his fair hurdles form in a couple of starts over fences back in May while not always impressing with his jumping. It would be no surprise to see an improved model now returning from six months off and he looks well handicapped. On Call opened his account over course and distance last month so he’s feared most up 5 lb, ahead of Galileo Silver, who should have more to offer over fences.

14:00 Coquelicot

COQUELICOT was unable to match her useful bumper form in a handful of starts over hurdles last season, but she did show some promise, and should be fit enough for this return following a recent spin on the Flat. She also goes in first-time blinkers for this handicap debut, and the step up in trip also looks a good move. She is more interesting than Misty Bloom and Runasimi River, who head up the dangers.

14:30 Tokay Dokey

This is a difficult handicap to assess with most of the field tackling fences for the first time, but TOKAY DOKEY is potentially well treated on the pick of his hurdles form, so could be worth chancing on his return from a lengthy absence. He was a promising novice hurdler in 2018/19 and is very much a chasing type, so with fitness unlikely to be a problem hailing from the Dan Skelton yard, he looks most interesting. Amarillo Sky and Brewers Project both look chasing types and they head the dangers.

Chepstow 4

15:00 Brave Kingdom

BRAVE KINGDOM’s bumper success at Fontwell earlier in the year is backed up by the timefigure, and he has since made an interesting yard switch, so could be the answer on this switch to hurdling fitted with a tongue tie (has also had a wind operation). Mumbo Jumbo is second choice after shaping best of the newcomers in a Newbury bumper back in March, though Camdonian, an interesting debutant from a top yard, and Coachman, a £140,000 buy following a point win, are others to take seriously.

15:35 Hullnback

A few likely types among the newcomers so the betting could prove informative, but it is HULLNBACK who is a tentative selection for the Fergal O’Brien team, who have already had seven bumper winners this season. Riskintheground, Walk On High and Keplerian are other debutants with the right sort of profiles, while Last Quarter didn’t achieve much when scoring in a small field in Ireland in the spring but is a possible improver for new handler David Pipe.
