The lightly raced 7yo BROADWAY JOE (nap), who has won here over hurdles, scored in good style on his recent chase debut at Kelso and can follow up. Millarville has finished second on two of her last three starts, and the first-time blinkers (replacing cheekpieces) may be a plus, but she’s 0-9 over fences and perhaps the main threat will come from the chasing newcomer Shaws Bridge who was in good form over hurdles when last seen.

Donald McCain continues to enjoy a fantastic autumn and hurdling newcomer COLLINGHAM is taken to make a winning start for the yard, having scored on his last two Flat runs in France. The next on the list is We Still Believe whose Wetherby third represents the best hurdle form in the line-up.

This doesn’t look the strongest of races and the in-form GOUET DES BRUYERES can make it two out of three for the season. Fourth Of July looks his main threat.

Nick Alexander’s WAKOOL returns from five months off but he has a striking record of 19332213 in handicaps and his latest clear third at Perth was behind a well-handicapped subsequent winner. This 5yo is a big player if he can pick up where he left off and he gets the vote ahead of Wynford, who has had a highly productive time under both codes since July and is on a workable mark back in this sphere. The other one on the shortlist is Red Missile, who still has potential over hurdles and looks interesting upped to this trip.
15:20 The Ferry Master
An interesting little race in which a case can be made for all of the runners. Preference is for the THE FERRY MASTER, who was progressive last season and was a good fourth in the Scottish National when last seen. Do Not Disturb is thriving and is an obvious danger, while Generator City won over Carlisle’s stiff 3m2f last time and is next on the list.

This could be between rules newcomers HEREWEGOHONEY and Ramble West, who have both shown promise in points. Herewegohoney won on her debut in May and gets the nod on her first run since being bought for £62,000.
