Wetherby 13.20 – Sizing At Midnight
Sizing At Midnight for Colin Tizzard could be a solid pick at a good each-way price. He’s had a couple of runs this season and he was third at Exeter earlier this month. He’s a horse who could improve a bit in a wide-open contest. I’ll side with Sizing At Midnight but I’m not confident about much in this race.
Ascot 13.35 – Nassalam
I’m all over Nassalam for Gary Moore. He impressed me in a couple of his hurdle races last year at Fontwell and that’s stuck with me. I’m a big fan.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Wetherby 13.55 – Molly Ollys Wishes
I like Molly Ollys Wishes. Her win at Warwick in February where she beat Paul’s Saga was really impressive. She’s got the strongest form out of anyone here. She went to Fontwell after the Warwick win and finished third behind Brewin’upastorm and McFabulous in the National Spirit Hurdle. She wasn’t beaten by too much so I’m happy to side with her.
Ascot 14.10 – Leoncavallo
It’s easy to take on Soaring Glory and Boothill at the top of the betting and I’m with Leoncavallo for David Pipe. He ran well at Ffos Las a couple of weeks ago and he could improve. He’ll be fit and he’s off a pretty good mark.
Wetherby 14.30 – Slate House (each way)
Run For Oscar was a solid winner of a Handicap at Listowel in September. He won that day off a mark of 133 and he’s now rated 147 in the UK, whereas he’s only 144 in Ireland. The big question for this race is how far back has Paisley Park fallen? Some of his runs last year were uninspiring but he’s still a good horse. Thomas Darby has a great chance too and his Aintree run could be key. Master Tommytucker and Slate House are coming back from chasing for Paul Nicholls. Slate House may have achieved more than Master Tommytucker as Paul placed him very well. At a price, I’ll go with Slate House in an each-way punt as he could be a bit of value.

Ascot 14.45 – Sully DOc
Editeur Du Gite got 5lbs from Sully DOc last time they met and he’s only getting 7lbs now – and Sully DOc has improved massively. He’s even gone and won at the Punchestown Festival. Sully DOc also has a win at Ascot so he’ll do me!
Down Royal 14.50 – Minella Indo
Minella Indo won on his debut last year when impressing at Wexford so I have no doubts about fitness. If you are worried about the fitness though, then Galvin is your choice as he’s already ran at Punchestown this month. As for Frodon, he was way off Minella Indo in the Cheltenham Gold Cup earlier this year. I feel Minella Indo has a bit up its sleeve and Rachael Blackmore is back on board which is always a bonus. I don’t see how you can go against him but I’m still not sold on the short price. I don’t see anything else that can take him on though.
Wetherby 15.05 – Shan Blue
Cyrname is in the same bracket as Paisley Park when you’re trying to work out how far they’ve fallen. For that reason, I’m going to take him on and I’m with Shan Blue. He was very good in the early parts of last season but did slightly trail off. Shan Blue is a little older and he’s got enough runs considering he’s seven years old. Three miles on a flat track like Wetherby will suit him perfectly.
Ascot 15.20 – Real Steel (each way)
I’m going for an ex-Willie Mullins horse in Real Steel. He’s back down to a rating of 150 and he’s already had a run this season at Chepstow. Going right-handed is major for him and most of his wins under Willie came when he was going right. I’m on Real Steel in an each-way play.
