Of the more experienced contenders don’t rule out another big run from It Must Be Faith on his 100th career start, while Stronsay was impressive at Catterick on Tuesday, albeit under very different circumstances.

This is weaker than Hayadh is accustomed to and he can go well but WIDAAD has been reliable in 2021 and she looks to have been found a good opportunity to double her career tally.

Recent C&D winners Lake Sand and BOY GEORGE look the pair to focus on and the selection may be able to follow up what was quite a smooth success. Returning to 1m could be the catalyst for the well-handicapped Laurentia to figure more prominently while Puffin Island is another to consider.

20:30 – Mutaraafeq

Making most and keeping on well over 8.5f at Epsom last time gives some appeal to the maiden MUTARAAFEQ, even though this is a new trip. Question marks over the opposition boost his cause but Zulu Girl, another who has not proved her stamina, is next on the list, ahead of Balgair.
