13:20 – The Player Queen

Rose Dobbin’s new recruit THE PLAYER QUEEN won a Cheltenham bumper in pretty good style on her rules debut in April and can collect this prize before moving on to bigger things. Hexham bumper winner Fiadh is the most obvious danger.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:55 – Sauce Of Life

Gentleman De Mai might well have bumped into a very good one when second on his Irish point debut last November and he looks very interesting on his rules debut, but it’s hard to get away from SAUCE OF LIFE who was 2-2 in bumpers last season and now makes his hurdling debut.

14:30 – If Not For Dylan

Dorking Boy begins his second spell over fences on a tempting mark and will be hard to beat if all goes to plan here but his tendency to race too freely is a nagging concern, and he’s not one to rely upon too heavily. An interesting alternative is IF NOT FOR DYLAN, who clouted the fourth-last fence when travelling sweetly at Carlisle 11 days ago but still kept on for a very respectable fourth. Andrew Hamilton’s 6yo benefits from a recent 3lb drop here and the move up in trip should also be in his favour. Recent Hexham winner Animore is next on the list.

15:05 – Im On Snap

There can be optimism I’M ON SNAP will stay this far and she earns the vote on the back of a solid fourth at Hereford recently. The Darley Lama is second choice now back over hurdles having failed to take to fences the last twice, with Manetti and The Electrician others who could run well.

15:40 – Grey Atlantic Way

Cases can be made for all of these but GREY ATLANTIC WAY bolted up over 3m3f at Sedgefield recently and he’s unexposed over staying trips. He can defy an 8lb rise at the chief expense of Event Of Sivola, who enjoyed a solid campaign last season.

16:15 – Flood Defence

The most obvious answer is FLOOD DEFENCE, who has been in good form over hurdles and on the Flat since fitted with a tongue-tie, and went down fighting at Perth on his latest start in this sphere. Get Phar will be dangerous if able to replicate his best Irish form for his new stable, while the booking of Brian Hughes heightens interest in Midnight Antics.

16:50 – Steinkraus

This looks much more competitive than Division 1 and pretty good cases can be made for most of these. Top of the list is STEINKRAUS (nap), who lost out only narrowly to a heavily punted rival at Carlisle 11 days ago. His running style, pedigree and Irish point form all suggest he can improve again over today’s longer trip. Melanamix may provide the main threat.

17:20 – Fathers Advice

Nicky Richards has a very good record in bumpers and his first-time-out filly Rose Of Siena will be feared if strong in the betting, but FATHERS ADVICE displayed significant ability when second over C&D on his debut in May and might be the answer. Jack Of All Shapes can also feature.
