13:00 – Emperor Caradoc

Baileys Accolade has a good chance to reverse recent course placings with the now-penalised Sezaam but one who might beat them both is EMPEROR CARADOC who took a sizeable step forward to finish fourth at York. On the evidence of that run, he’s quick enough for this shorter trip.

13:30 – Enraged

It’s worth giving another chance to ENRAGED back on turf. Second choice is Tinkerstar, who remains on a handy mark. Angels Tale is a likely player if backing up her latest effort, while Ey Up Its The Boss is an interesting handicap newcomer. Saturday’s Chelmsford scorer Ringo Starlight would warrant respect if he turns out quickly.

14:05 – Give It Some Teddy

This will take some winning. Mujtaba is unbeaten and bred to be better again, while Last Look ran a mighty race after her layoff at York and Empirestateofmind (second choice) is on a right roll at the minute. However, it could be that GIVE IT SOME TEDDY prefers some give underfoot these days and he’s taken to register a sixth course win.

14:40 – Trojan Horse

A race named in honour of star stayer Double Trigger and, representing the same connections, there would be no more apt winner than TROJAN HORSE. He was strong through the line at York and can only benefit from this longer trip. Three Start caught the eye in behind and he’s feared most, ahead of Skye Breeze and Belle Of Annandale.

15:15 – Forever Forward

Judged purely on ratings FOREVER FORWARD has easily the best chance, followed by All Things Bright. Third choice is Bad Rabbit. Most of the others are unreliable and/or not in top form.

15:50 – Nizaaka

Dropped in trip with a hood applied, NIZAAKA is well worth another chance to confirm her debut promise. Shobiz (second choice) looks the biggest threat on form but also watch out for seasonal debutant Alablaq and likely improvers Closing Bell and Saleymm.

16:25 – Penombre

Others are perhaps safer propositions but PENOMBRE ran his best race on his only previous encounter with soft ground and is worth risking now back from a break and wind surgery. This is a belated first run over 6f for Mudawwan but that might not stop him. So Grateful is next best.

17:00 – Blazing Son

There’s plenty to like about the chance of BLAZING SON (nap). His form that has worked out well at Ripon last time was on good ground but he has run well on soft and his sire Mayson loved the mud. Bobby Shaftoe rattled home over shorter at Musselburgh two weeks ago and going over further looks an obvious move. Hoofs Happy Now is another with solid claims.
