17:00 Persaria (NAP)
Having had excuses with one thing another this year, it finally fell into place for the well-related PERSARIA (nap) at Lingfield, when dropped to 5f for the first time, and she can follow up off a 3lb higher mark. Trusty Rusty has to prove she’s as good on Polytrack as Tapeta, while La Roca Del Fuego will find this tougher upped another 7lb away from his beloved Chelmsford. Among the likely bigger prices, it’s possible to make cases for Secretfact, who tends to do well in the autumn, including when second in this race last year, and Spirit Power, who’s 2-2 over C&D.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
17:30 Whispering Winds
There may not be a great deal between Leicester protagonists Hurry Up Hedley and Midgetonamission on the revised terms, especially as the former’s most recent defeat came at this course. Aurelia Gold and Stargazer Lily also tie in closely with the Haggas runner, so this is quite a tricky race to work out. The tentative suggestion is WHISPERING WINDS, who is well treated on her best turf form and gives the impression she’ll be suited by this new trip. Petal Power also enters calculations.
18:00 Epic Express
Bearwith is the obvious starting point, with his two Wolverhampton efforts, not least his comfortable, eased-down win at the weekend, a few notches above most of his turf runs. He’s likely to again be dropped in from a wide stall on his Polytrack debut and preference is for EPIC EXPRESS, who also seems happier on the AW than turf, having gone close over C&D last time after pulling hard to the start. Handicap newcomer Cuban Musketeer, who’ll appreciate the stiffer test, and the capable-but-quirky Major J are two others to consider.

18:30 Busby
A four-time course winner, BUSBY came in for good support here last time, when never able to get seriously involved from a wide stall over 7f, and gets the nod for his new yard. Silk Tie has to prove his stamina, while habitual slow-starter Catch My Breath will need to break better from stall 12.
19:00 Whoputfiftyinyou
A penalty means WHOPUTFIFTYINYOU is 7lb worse off with Sharesa than when beating her on his debut. He may need to improve but showed signs of greenness at Haydock and that’s entirely possible. Antiphon, who’s been off since a pleasing debut in the spring, is the other with experience to hold obvious claims, while Aussie Banker, whose half-brother won on his 2yo C&D debut for the yard, is an interesting newcomer.
19:30 Join Forces
In an open race, the vote goes to JOIN FORCES who could be unexposed at sprint distances. Kath’s Toyboy and Ghaaliya filled the places behind an improver over C&D in September and should be thereabouts again, while Imagine Freedom (second choice), Good Earth and Show Me A Sunset are others to consider.
20:00 Diamond Bay
Loving Dash has stamina in her pedigree and appreciated the step up in trip when coming away with Mutarabby over C&D last time. However, a 9lb rise sees her 4lb worse off with the runner-up and with more on her plate, and this can go to another progressive 3yo in DIAMOND BAY, who also did for Mutarabby over C&D before showing the right attitude to complete his hat-trick at Wolverhampton. Sky Power is another with obvious claims but he’ll need to settle better upped in trip again.
20:30 Like Sugar
Two candidates with recent C&D form may come to the fore. Miss Zenlingus commands respect but preference is for LIKE SUGAR, who goes well here and was denied only narrowly last time. The reliable Torbellino has each-way possibilities.
