On My Command brings the best form to the table but MOONAMACAROONA perhaps has the most potential. Alan King’s mare did well in bumpers and is bred to progress to better things now jumping over further. Glimpse Of Gala also needs respecting, for all that a penalty asks plenty of her.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
13:35 – Fair Star
At Poets Cross is perhaps the best long-term prospect of these, having impressed in a bumper and with a very appealing pedigree for jumping. However, FAIR STAR, also a bumper winner but with useful middle-distance Flat form to his name, might be too quick for him at this trip. Maninsane, Galore Desassences, Hector’s Here and Presenting Pete should be winning soon.
14:10 – Earlofthecotswolds
Martello Sky’s only defeat over hurdles came at the Cheltenham Festival and she looks on a competitive mark for her first handicap. She is hugely respected, but Nigel Twiston-Davies is starting to roll in the winners and EARLOFTHECOTSWOLDS is well treated on his best form, of which a lot has been here. Breaking Waves and Winged Isle also have claims.
14:45 – Beyond The Clouds
Stolen Silver has time on his side to get a once very promising career back on track and there were positives to take from his three defeats over fences last season. Dino Velvet isn’t without hope, either, but it was a strong little handicap that BEYOND THE CLOUDS won at Warwick and he’s taken to follow up.
15:20 – Casablanca Mix
Francky Du Berlais was on fire during the summer but the combination of a three-month break and a 10lb hit could stall his progress. Captain Tommy is very well in with the top weight on a previous clash and he’s respected, as are Senior Citizen and Red Risk. However, the likeable CASABLANCA MIX (nap) has perhaps the most convincing credentials with so much in her favour. Captain Tommy is feared most.
15:55 – Cilluirid
Any confidence behind Rafferty would put a very different complexion on this modest handicap but as things stand CILLUIRID is taken to follow up his clearcut win at Sedgefield. Begoodtoyourself is best of the rest.
16:25 – Sarsen
Newcomers. Top of the list, principally due to their connections, are SARSEN, Poetic Music and Trolley Boy, in that order and with Alan King’s charge getting the vote.
