The likely soft ground will be a factor here, especially with regard to Larado who was so impressive when winning at Epsom last time, but he is untried on ground softer than good. If he handles it he would have a major chance despite his penalty, but preference is for MAYAAS who should be all the better for last month’s return from a long absence and ran well enough on soft ground on his debut. Abduction also ran well on soft ground last season and could step up on his turf efforts so far this year if the visor has a positive effect.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:30 Lihou
There should be plenty of pace on here with the likes of Major Jumbo, Bossipop and Militia in the field. The last-named is probably the most favoured of the trio by this sharp 5f, but this may lie between LIHOU and Soul Seeker who are both back off their last winning marks. Preference is for the former who is slightly better drawn than his rival.
15:05 Lucy Lulu
Both Live In The Dream and Designer drop back in grade after facing stiff tasks in their most recent outings and they are respected, but despite having a bit to find with the pair on these terms and being more exposed it may be worth taking a chance with LUCY LULU. Roger Fell’s filly has already shown that she can cope with soft ground and also has the bonus of the inside draw.
15:40 Flying West (NAP)
If Gometra Ginty were to be left in front again she could add to an already successful season, but soft/heavy ground would be a concern so preference is for FLYING WEST (nap). She loves soft ground and only found a bang-in-form rival just too strong at Sandown last time. Handicap debutante Rani Of Jhansi remains open to improvement and could give her most to do.
16:15 Gaassee
Market support for the beautifully bred newcomer Serena’s Symphony would be noteworthy, but this looks a good opportunity for GAASSEE who showed enough on his recent Lingfield debut to suggest that a race like this was within his grasp. Mind Hunter could be given a chance if repeating the form of his Lingfield second on this debut for a new yard.

16:48 Flood Defence
Last week’s course winner Sophar Sogood should go well again, as should Euro Implosion especially if he is able to dominate. However, it may be worth siding with FLOOD DEFENCE who has dropped 5lb below her last winning mark and has winning form on soft and heavy ground. Port Or Starboard could go well if building on his recent encouraging Hamilton performance.
17:20 Skytree
A few of these come into the race in good form and are proven in soft ground, such as Rewired and Sunset Memory, but the vote goes to SKYTREE who was only narrowly beaten at Newbury last time. She will be suited by a return to soft ground, on which she gained her sole win.
