13:30 HIGHFIELD PRINCESS

Highfield Princess recorded her first success from a BHA mark of 58, but she has done nothing but improve since, notably winning a Royal Ascot handicap and a listed race at Chelmsford during the summer. She posted another useful effort when fourth in the Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster last time, keeping on well to pass the post less than two lengths behind the winner. She is a likeable filly and looks sure to give another good account despite having a 3 lb penalty to contend with.

14:05 DAKOTA GOLD

Dakota Gold enjoyed a productive campaign in 2020, winning four times and showing borderline very smart form when successful in this listed race (staged at Nottingham after Ascot was abandoned) for the second year in a row. Admittedly, he has been slightly disappointing in four starts this season, but the softer ground here will play more to his strengths. It’s far too soon to be writing him off and he is the class act in this line-up if bouncing back to his best.

14:40 Hukum

Hukum has already won a pair of Group 3 races this season, putting up his best performance when winning the Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury for the second year in succession. He was turned over at short odds but still ran respectably in the September Stakes at Kempton last time, losing out by just a neck in a messy affair. He is a solid operator at this sort of level and should mount a bold bid to regain the winning thread under a 3 lb penalty.

15:15 GREAT AMBASSADOR

Great Ambassador is one of the most progressive sprinters around in 2021 and he made it three wins for the year in a listed race at York last month. He ran another big race in the Ayr Gold Cup last time, filling the runner-up spot behind Bielsa who raced alone on the opposite side of the track. Still relatively lightly raced as a sprinter, Great Ambassador remains open to more improvement and is fancied to take the step up in grade here in his stride.

15:50 RIVER NYMPH

River Nymph recorded his second win from as many starts over this course and distance when accounting for 26 rivals in the Victoria Cup in May. He is only 4 lb higher in the weights here and there was plenty to like about his latest effort in a listed race at Newbury, making good late headway to be beaten less than four lengths. He is entitled to strip fitter with that first outing for four months under his belt and this looks the obvious next step given how effective he is at Ascot.

16:25 BOUNDLESS POWER

Boundless Power has thrived on his racing this year and he produced his best effort since joining the Michael Appleby yard when second in the Portland Handicap at Doncaster last time. He travelled strongly and stuck to his task well under pressure to push Hurricane Ivor all the way to the line. The winner gave that form a boost when winning a Group 3 on his next start at Newbury, so Boundless Bower could be worth siding with here from just a 3 lb higher mark.
