There was plenty to like about what ALICE AVRIL showed last time at Roscommon and it’s difficult to get away from her, provided she’s none the worse for that recent effort. Downthecellar may yet have more to come after rattling off a hat-trick but She Tops The Lot is fancied to reverse the form of their recent encounter here.

Not many of these make that much appeal. Elegant Dan was second in this last year and should go close. The place form of both Pat Coyne and Secret Cargo is likely to see them be thereabouts. Preference though is for BOLD EMPEROR, who has failed to complete on both starts but would have gone very close at Ballinrobe last time if he had jumped the last.
18:15 Brides Hill
Not many of these really count. Trebizond showed ability in a couple of well-contested juvenile maiden hurdles last winter and should go close. However, the standard set by BRIDES HILL when second in two handicap hurdles, especially at Galway last time, makes her the choice.
18:45 Walking Fame
Plenty in with chances but WALKING FAME appeals as one who could be up to making a winning debut for Willie Mullins, switching to handicap company. Elegant Lass could give her most to think about, while Craic Eile has a handy low weight and likes this track. The extremely versatile Bridge Native should be on the premises too.
19:15 Bennystiara
BENNYSTIARA was impressive last time at Roscommon and looks an improver who could take some stopping if getting into a rhythm here. Quirt Evans and Mr Caplan are closely matched and should be bang there again after their Wexford clash, while Miss Tempo has a handy low weight and course experience so needs strong consideration too.

There’s plenty in OPTIONAL MIX (nap)’s favour if she can defy her lack of handicap experience, with her profile more attractive than plenty of these rivals. Zamond could run well at a price and needs taking seriously, while new recruit to Gavin Cromwell’s yard Bring The Bacon is worth a market check. Game Catch, Eaton Lady and Naturally Blond have fairly sound claims.
20:15 Line Out
The locally-trained LINE OUT fired a warning shot at the Galway festival and needs to be taken seriously, for all that Weseekhimhere looked very promising when last seen in November. There should be more to come from Beret Rouge, while the quality of the race would be strengthened if Western Victory or Duffle Coat got in as reserves.
