Byzantia has been running below par the last few runs, when fifth of 10 in a handicap at Salisbury 56 days ago. It’s a drop in trip on Sunday over 5f and it should suit her. Byzantia is having its first run for John Butler after leaving Charlie Fellowes’ yard. She could have a bit to prove on recent form but Byzantia could be worth a market check.

15:40 Curragh – Jon Riggens

Jon Riggens is a promising runner who was a decent second in a 14 runner maiden at Tipperary 68 days ago. He was no match that day for the eventual winner. He’s having his first run since leaving Sean Hennessey’s yard and he’s now with Edward Lynam and I just think he is open to improvement and could do better.

15:50 Downpatrick – Recite A Prayer

Recite A Prayer was previously trained by greyhound trainer Paul Hennessy for his wife Susan and was a beaten favourite on his first start for Willie Mullins in Tipperary in May when running over three miles on heavy ground. He is back over a shorter trip of 2m 6f, which should suit, and he also has the assistant of top jockey Paul Townsend on board and he will have more to offer for his new yard and will be a big player.

16:00 Leicester – Sir Benedict

Sir Benedict was a good second over 6f at Chester 29 days ago. He is also wearing a hood for the first time here. It’s his first run for the yard after leaving Ian Williams and it’s the new stables Charlie Fellowes’ only runner and I expect him to go well.
