Dairerin made an excellent start to his career when winning on debut at Ripon, finding plenty inside the final furlong and showing a good attitude to prevail by a neck. He progressed when only beaten by a nose in a good-quality conditions stakes at Newbury last time, and that form represents the best on offer. He remains open to further improvement and looks the one to beat.

14:35 Irish Admiral
Irish Admiral created a good impression in two starts for John Feane last season and he made no mistake on his debut for William Haggas at Wolverhampton in April, easily landing the odds. He contested a much better race at York last time on his handicap debut and he enhanced his reputation, despite finishing only third.
Irish Admiral moved through that mile-and-a-quarter contest like the best prospect in the field, but he was unable to sustain his challenge after making an eye-catching move down the outside. He should appreciate this drop back in trip and he can prove a class apart from his rivals.
15:10 Al Aasy
Al Aasy has always been held in high regard by William Haggas and you can see why based on his two efforts this season. Al Aasy has raised his game significantly this term, winning the John Porter Stakes on his reappearance at Newbury before putting up an even better effort over the same course and distance in the Al Rayyan Stakes. Al Aasy didn’t need to come off the bridle to brush aside his rivals, looking every inch a Group 1 performer, and he can prove that he is a top-class talent.
15:45 Blue Cup
Blue Cup was a big eyecatcher when finishing fifth over this course and distance on his return in April and he can gain some compensation here. Blue Cup wasn’t well placed out the back in a race run at a modest gallop, but he arguably would have won had he not been repeatedly denied a run inside the final furlong. Blue Cup ruined his chance by pulling too hard on his only subsequent start at York, but the application of a hood here could be a positive move, and if he uses his energy more efficiently he can prove to be a long way ahead of this mark.
16:30 Zeyaadah
Zeyaadah lost her unbeaten record when chasing home Dubai Fountain in the Cheshire Oaks but she enhanced her reputation, looking a shade unlucky not to win after meeting trouble in running. She was also giving the more experienced winner 3 lb, so she emerged as the best filly at the weights. That form is among the best on offer and Zeyaadah could be capable of better after only four starts, so she represents good value against the favourite Santa Barbara, who is also entitled to plenty of respect on the back of such a promising effort in the 1000 Guineas.

17:10 Mehmento
Mehmento was a wide-margin winner on his first couple of starts at Southwell and he proved his versatility by running a cracker in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury. Mehmento was runner-up to Chindit, beaten just a neck, and that was a promising performance, particularly when you consider his inexperience. He beat only one rival home when upped to a mile in the French 2000 Guineas but that effort can be ignored as he simply failed to stay. He will be suited by this return to seven furlongs and he sets a clear standard on his Greenham form.
17:40 Dulas
Dulas shaped well when runner-up on his first couple of outings this season, including in a handicap at Chester that has proved really strong form. He didn’t need to improve to gain a deserved victory at Goodwood last time and he remains well treated having gone up only 2 lb. He should be well suited by this type of test and ought to give a good account.
