4.25pm – Marta Boy (NAP)
Jazzy Socks has the ability to go well off his revised mark if he doesn’t blow the start but the C&D event 15 days ago in which Imperial Dawn finished ahead of MARTA BOY (nap) and Fille D’Or may prove the most relevant formline. There could be the greatest progress to come from the selection and he can get off the mark at the fifth time of asking.
4.55pm – Orgetorix
There was plenty to like about Vitruve’s debut fourth at Newmarket, when green early and done for toe before coming home nicely, and he’s respected despite landing the outside stall. ORGETORIX probably has more to offer too, however, and a 4lb penalty for overcoming obstacles and beating a subsequent winner at York last month should be manageable. Oz Legend and Najeeba are the two most interesting newcomers.
5.30pm – Wirko
First Light is a notable newcomer but both Barn Owl and WIRKO have shown a useful level of ability already. Both have more to come but the selection shaped very nicely at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago and can put that experience to good use.
Horse Racing tips: A 7/1 play could make hay at Thurles on Thursday
6.00pm – Dark Motive
This looks a fiendishly difficult contest with several runners of interest. Menai Bridge, Shady McGee and Dream Chaser bring solid C&D form into the contest, while Where You At shaped well last time and Uncle Dick shouldn’t be written off on the back of one bad run. Uss Nimitz settled better last time and still has potential but if DARK MOTIVE reproduces the form she showed on her debut then she should go very close indeed off this opening mark.
6.30pm – Lapidary
War Leader had no problem with 1m2f on his first start for new connections last month, despite taking a grip, and a string of short-priced defeats for Aidan O’Brien previously tempers enthusiasm. Commit No Nuisance is entitled to need this, returning from exactly a year off, and the vote goes to LAPIDARY, who’ll find this a bit less competitive back on the AW.
7.00pm – Lottie Marie
Lady Eleanor looks ready for the step up to 1m and may do better yet, while Tahitian Prince and Sceptred Isle both leave the impression there’s more to come. LOTTIE MARIE is more speculative but she’s starting out for her new yard off a handy mark and this drop in trip could be the way to go.

7.30pm – Adelante
Three-year-old fillies American Entente and Amniarix are both open to improvement now handicapping, while the lightly raced Molivaliente is better than he was able to show when a beaten favourite last time. Johnny Reb improved his course record to 201321 when making all off 4lb lower last time and is respected but there’s other pace in here and a chance is taken on ADELANTE, who’s back on a competitive mark and has been promising more over C&D lately.
8.00pm – Figeac
General Zoff likes it here and bounced back to form over C&D last week but he was allowed to set a slow pace in a small field that night, and preference is for FIGEAC, who’s run well in two starts back from a long absence. Blazon’s record over C&D of three wins from five runs entitles him to respect but he’s highly risky after recent turf efforts.
8.30pm – My Boy Sepoy
Several possibles in a fair race of its type. Gas Monkey, Arabian King, Sula Island and Running Cloud are all of some interest but the one to be on could be MY BOY SEPOY. With the prospect of a solid pace on the cards, he is taken to go one better than last year off his 13lb lower mark.
