Preference is for GOOD LISTENER after his promising run at York, though Pride Of UK must be decent to have stayed on the premises at Wolverhampton after hanging right throughout. Faustus is the other one to consider.

14:00 Pettochside

Quite a competitive claimer may go the way of PETTOCHSIDE, who has had yet another good season. This is a belated return to 6 furlongs for Dream World so the danger could be Rasheeq.

14:30 Tenfold

Water’s Edge and Twpsyn finished first and second in a similar event over course and distance last Monday, but they are up against some unexposed contenders this time. TENFOLD is particularly interesting, with the form of his sole handicap effort looking very solid. Pledge Of Honour also commands respect, while Taameen and Sky Power are open to progress now handicapping. Second choice is Sky Power.

15:00 Global Esteem

There may be more to come from GLOBAL ESTEEM back on forecast slower ground and, with George Rooke taking off 5lb, he’s effectively running off the same mark as for his Yarmouth success. Second choice is Sacre Bleu, who ran well on soft last time. Viaduct looks a big player if handling the conditions and Epic Endeavour has possibilities if staying the trip.

15:30 Grey Fox

With this drop back to 1m expected to benefit a chance is taken on GREY FOX. Paradise On Earth is the dark one on her debut for Archie Watson and hopes are high that she’ll handle the conditions

16:00 Party Island

The one who appeals most is PARTY ISLAND (NAP), who will relish these conditions and could easily have another career-best effort lurking. Second choice is Espresso Freddo, who could be happier on this ground than the others who come here in good form.

16:30 Lady Isabel

An ability to handle testing ground is a big tick in the box of LADY ISABEL, who can defy a penalty for last week’s win here. Das Kapital will be glad to get back on the Flat and he too has plenty going for him.
