Paddy Power has picked out his three best selections for Saturday’s racing away from Ascot, with plenty on offer besides Champions Day.
Our main man has cast his eye over a competitive card at Leopardstown while he’s also taken a look across the channel and tried to pick a winner in the French Champion Hurdle at Auteuil.
Speaking on the latest episode of the twice-weekly From The Horse’s Mouth podcast, Paddy even opened up the Argentinian form book to try and bag a winner!
This is a horse that I’ve flagged up before but it didn’t run – WILDS DREAMS for Joseph O’Brien. He had his first run for him in the Matron, having come over from Argentina. Obviously I don’t know anything about Argentinian form but he had a load of 1s by his name and is over for a reason.
There must be a reason why Joseph O’Brien has this horse in training over here, so Wilds Dreams is one to keep an eye on – especially if there is any money in it.
This one is probably between Inca Prince for Henry de Bromhead and ERZINDJAN for Dermot Weld. I would just go for Erzindjan, who was very impressive last time.
In the French Champion Hurdle I don’t really have a rashers! I recognise loads of the horses obviously, as it’s all the stayers for a three-mile hurdle over soft ground.
I was just going to go for THE WORLDS END. Pulled up last time at Haydock in February and missed Cheltenham as he got an injury in his preparation so this will be his first run back for a long time.
This would be a real token bet from me – if the telly happened to be on, and I saw the race coming up and thought I had to back something, it would be The World’s End.
