14:45 The Last Knight
Blinkered for the first-time, Urban Step won’t need to find a whole lot extra to reap the rewards here and he holds a favourites chance, but preference is for THE LAST KNIGHT. Our selection was not that far from the pace in a competitive Curragh maiden on his recent outing and he gives the impression he can turn the screw another few notches. Zoffany’s Delight is the likely pace angle and he might not be easy to peg back.
15:15 Elizabethan
The War Front filly ELIZABETHAN is clearly no world beater, but she is edging closer to the target, and her recent near miss in fourth spot at Limerick suggests she could well have her day today. Russian River is interesting on the back of winning a barrier trial and is worth a close look, whilst Perfect Match and the newcomer Alarm Call are also worth monitoring closely.
15:45 Hype
Fight Zone is not necessarily improving but he brings a mark of 85 that renders him a major player even if he isn’t. HYPE, who shaped well and is bred to be smart, can perhaps defy a 101-day rest after a pleasing debut offering.
16:15 Giselles Thunder
The barrier trial form of some of the newcomers is hardly overwhelming, which affords the experienced GISELLES THUNDER with a nice opportunity to poke her head in front here. In close proximity on all three starts, the track should suit and any negative points are hard found. Mr Fayez is an obvious danger on Bellewstown form, but encounters quicker ground today.
16:45 White Pepper (NAP)
WHITE PEPPER (nap) looks certain to appreciate the stiff mile here and makes plenty of appeal. Nursery debutant Wonder Spirit is a fascinating alternative.
17:15 Friendly
A competitive maiden. FRIENDLY is getting there and can go one better, perhaps at Sense Of Style’s chief expense.
17:45 Southern Lights
Probably a smart maiden. Khartoum is bred to win this but a chance is taken on the Sea The Stars colt SOUTHERN LIGHTS, sharp enough to win a maiden prep event. Ones Are Wild is another for the O’Brien moniker that needs respect.
18:15 Alex D
ALEX D is rated 88 and that is a decent standard for the others to aim at among the many newcomers. At the prices, do not rule out Sziget now stepped back up in trip.
