Where's the value at Punchestown and Cork on Wednesday? Our trader Conor Magner has the answers

Punchestown 14:15 Whenurgoodurgood (e/w)

I’d give a chance to Whenurgoodurgood in the 2m 4f handicap hurdle for trainer Nigel Slevin. He won a maiden hurdle in Killarney last summer and has run decently in some handicaps since then, recently when sixth to Shanroe at Tipperary a couple of runs back.

He didn’t look to enjoy his run over fences at Tramore the last time when eighth of 12 but reverts to hurdles on Wednesday and is worth an each-way play in a race where there are no world beaters.

Cork 16:30 Fictitious Lady

I fancied Fictitious Lady at Gowran Park last time out after a decent run at Down Royal but ran a little bit flat. She’s had about four weeks to freshen up and looks well capable of winning a Flat maiden in the capable hands of trainer Willie McCreery. It looks a competitive race, but she can win it.

Cork-Racecourse

Cork 17:00 Loch Lein

A hot 6f maiden and Jessica Harrington’s Loch Lein must surely go close after two placed efforts. She ran against the colts at the Curragh last time when second to St Mark’s Basilica with the third, Duke of Mantua, subsequently winning over 7f at Gowran Park.

Both Iva Batt and Coulthard who were behind her ran well in a decent race at Navan last Saturday behind Lipizzaner. This looks a good chance for Loch Lein to open her account and she could end up running in Stakes races before the season is out.

Cork 17.30 Ace Aussie

There’re potentially some serious horses in the 7f Maiden on Wednesday’s card and Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley could have the answer again with Ace Aussie who pushed Hudson River close at the Curragh at the end of June.

That contest that has seen Wembley, Mac Swiney, Snowy Owl and Monaasib – who were all behind – Ace Aussie – all win since.
